Let's be honest its time for our team for 2021!

I think they'll have Watson as starting hooker in game 1 and bring Randall off the bench, but if Randall does well and can do decent minutes, they will eventually have him starting and Watson will go back to being an impact player.
Do you think Watson could start at 9 then play his bench/hybrid role when Randall comes on? How long could he go for?

Watson could grind out 80 minutes, but at this stage i'd be looking after him as much as possible. He is a little guy who goes hard and has picked up a lot of injuries over his career. He's missed 14 games over the last 2 seasons, and played injured in a lot more.
In short, I'd only play him for as long as he is fresh if we can, because a gassed Watson isn't much better than a fresh benchie, and he would be more injury prone if gassed, and we need him to avoid injury.

I like him being able to go 100kmph while he's out there too. Looks like Randall is going to play an important role in anything we achieve this year then.

I like the idea of using Randall at 9, Watson remains 14, get as much out of Randall as he can give, Watson comes on fresh sometime in first half or can replace an injured/tired spine player, the variations are endless. So first game back it’s Hoy for Ponga, Randall for Brailey, Guerra for Barnett with Sione to bench. As little disruption as possible considering 3 out.
Game 2 back Hoy out Ponga back, 9 & 14 same, Guerra stays unless Barnett fit then it’s Guerra or Sione bench or dropped.
We are then seriously looking at 6, Mann is going ok or Crossland is ready to go.

I'd love to see us have a trial game as early as next week if all the guys are fit.
Even an inhouse opposed trial.
Put it on the net and give us something to look at.

Was looking forward to some actual news today, but apparently all the clubs spent a day learning about hygiene and not coming in when you have a runny nose.

My son who is a souths supporter ( may wild dogs eat his liver lol)said he read Latrell got sent home with flu like symptoms . Does anyone know if this is right .

I'm hearing you, but at the end of the day, today was a very important milestone and we are on track for football in 24 days time. It feels like I've already been through this countdown this year, the longest wait I have these days is the wait for footy to come back.

Haven't heard that, but it makes the chances of Josh Addo Carr training with Melbourne very slim if it's true.

Actually yes, it is being reported. Adam Reynolds and Liam Knight also sent home, along with one other.

They are doing 5000 tests a day on people with "flu like symptoms" and 5 or less a day are positive to covid, so 1000/1 odds that Latrell has covid.

I just read that any player on a development contract is now available to play for the rest of the season.

"Players on development contracts will be available to play as soon as the competition resumes on May 28, easing the rule that required an NRL exemption for them to be named before June 30".

Realistically, only Chris Randall is a chance from our development players at the moment, but we do still have 2 spots open I think, which we could give to someone like a Tyler Randell or similar if our hooker situation gets worse.

It’s that time of year where everyone is going to have a sore throat and a sniffle.

Yeah it's going to be a unique time of year, off topic scomo wants everyone back at work and not working from home, but can people imagine the freakout when as we all do when you have no sickies cause the kids take them all turn up with the flu? Especially in large 200+ office staff like mine their will be huge freak outs, just suck it up til end of spring I say atleast we are still earning and paying tax for mine!

My 60 year old brother is working from home and is more productive than he was when he had to travel 2 hours a day.
His work is saying they will probably only want him to go in 1 or 2 days a week even if they open everything up in the near future.
I think there will be a lot of people working from home for a very long time - maybe forever.
He is even training a new starter online. He says the girl started work the week before the lockdown, and now he has the job of training her by facetime on the computer.

I think during this unique situation you will have more people work from home in future. Companies will have seen that work production hasn’t dropped by working at home. They may give the option to work from home in future and see it as a cost saving exercise on office space and size.

To me it makes sense people working from home to continue to do so, less people on public transport alone is a hell of a benefit.

- Personally the thought of not driving an hour and a half a day is pretty awesome too lol.
