Sadly it's that time, your team for 2020

A podcast I listen to reckons fitzy is swapping sides and Guerra will be starting.

Any sense in
11. Fitzy
12. Guerra
13. Barnett

Article that has actual quotes from O'Brien talking about the training form of a player.
Basically says he is very impressed with Aiden Guerra, especially after the Tamworth camp. Says Guerra has been one of the best trainers.

I remember seeing footage in pre-season training in his first season here, where Guerra got stuck into some of the players for being down on their haunches and sucking in the big ones after a gruelling drill - he basically said 'Get up! You never let the opposition see you tired or out on your feet'...or words to that effect.

I'm not surprised that O'Brien flagged that - it was part of why I wanted Guerra here when we signed him. With his background in the Roosters system, showing the young blokes by example what it takes to be an elite first grade player, not just on the field but on the training paddock and in everything you do....and it sounds like he continues to lead by that example.

Let's hope that becomes the benchmark that all the players aspire to for this club moving forward

Willie Mason was running off the field right in front of me and he turned to the boys and yelled at them to jog off and not let the opposition see your tired. Most were walking and a couple were bent over and he was into them , he was no spring chicken by then.

That's the mental game and we have been pretty poor at that aspect.

It was the reason Brown used to talk about players from good systems coming in. Because they know how to get the job done, know what it takes.

We have a long way to go in that department.

Another example of mental weakness we can be on top for any length of time and the minute a call goes against us or there's a mistake we trip over our bottom lip for the rest of the game.

I would like Moga and Hunt to be our centre's and after looking at the training pic's im even more sure that's who should be there they both look huge and ripped and ready to go … Moga can be a beast at centre that's why we bought him he was smashing everything in attack and defence and Hunt was our best buy for the money we paid him imo .
Ponga Lee Hunt Moga Best , going on what I know (which isn't much compared to the coaches of course) about the players that would be my backline ..

Not any more Obi will put a stop to all that .

Yeah he talks the talk, remains to be seen if he can get the players to walk the walk.

Lets see how we are are trotting round 20, when Ponga, Pearce, Klemmer, and Glasby are sore and sorry after origin.

Lets hope he actually is man enough to be head coach and REST them during the year.

Going against the Grain, I'd swap Best and Hunt.

Think if Best plays then he should be in his preferred position with definitely Lee at 2 and Moga and Hunt 4 and 5, if no Best then Hunt to centre with 5 ????, probably one of the new guys.

I just think Hunt plays better at centre than wing and best is definatly faster than Hunt but Hunt is more likely to break the line and get a ball away. Besides isn't F/back Bests prefered position not centre.

I think he's been pretty much earmarked as a centre. His debut was on the wing, but they fast tracked him right into centre, moved Hunt I think to the other side to accommodate him. He's a big bullocking boy who could grow into the forwards, I don't think we'll be seeing him at fullback.

Best is only 18.
He could end up anywhere except the halves or hooker, depending on how his body develops over the next few years.

Levi also did an interview with the Daily Tele and is adamant he is one of the best hookers in the game but has not been given the chance to prove it. He also speaks about falling out of favour at the club. Not sure why he thinks he was never given a fair shot he played 83 nrl games and never cemented the nine jumper as his own.
