2020 Captain

Guerra if still here, steady old head
Glasby is next in line same type as Guerra
Pearce is my third, we have a lack of fourth, much prefer he just play, will control what’s happening but not be involved in talking with refs or enforcing coaches plans.

Fitz mouths of to the opposition to much to be captain and I wouldn't want him to stop giving it to them because I like that about him to .

Fair enough assessment Frank - I feel sure Guerra will be here next year especially as he has 1 year left and to pay him out is a waste, magnified by the fact that even with limited game time this Year ( due to broken leg ) his defence really stiffens us up , which was our biggest down fall this year. It was also interesting to note that Brownie , tapped him on the shoulder to take over when he walked out, indicates that Brownie valued his support and his ability to influence the playing group.
Glasby is no nonsense and had a relationship with OBI from the Storm, leadership and on field diplomacy unknown.
Pearce as Halk Back will always have an influence of on field activities whether C or not.
Not sure OBI will pick from outside this current roster at this point.

With this club's history .... Hughbert Super Magician should be our Cpt.
We were coming back from a swim at Ladies well and stopped at Paterson for a beer and Super Hughbert was doing an adult show there and he was awesome , great show he had the place in stitches .

Tasgirl back in '99 when I turned 60 and retired, Super Hubert used to do 6am house calls in Newie for birthdays etc., my wife was thinking of having the goose come to our place for my birthday.

Told her Super could take her with him and that seemed to scare her off! I often thought he would have made an excellent Club Chairman considering some we had.

Your wife sounds .... my type of person, love people with a sense of humour.xx

It'll be Pearce

And should be, he is our club leader, and leader on the field. His issues last year were not due to the captaincy responsibility but due to the burden of being the only player responsible with creating things and taking virtually every attacking kick.

Sure, Ponga would pop up and do something every now and then, but the expectation always fell to Pearce to be our playmaker.

We really need a second option and Lino was providing that. We looked a better side with Lino attacking the right side and taking some last tackle options! I will be keen to see how Lino goes against Penrith.

Wonder how much of Pearce's crapness came to playing with a dodgy groin.
Brown's habit of not mentioning any injuries players carry into games gave us a twisted view of players at times. Buhrer was clearly injured most of last year and his reputation was trashed by playing injured.
Pearce and Mann were two who carried some pretty bad injuries this year, and did their reputations no favours.
I don't know who Brown thought he was fooling - the opposition knew Pearce was missing 6 tackles a game and hardly running because he was injured, and ran at him accordingly.
We would have, and should have, rested Pearce if we had anyone else.
