Knights possible targets for 2020

Well we already have.

1. Ponga.
2. Best.
3.
4. Moga.
5. Lee

Under contract for next year.

Unless we can move on Moga, I'd suggest we only look at signing 1 on the cheap and start bringing the kids through.

Moga should be a 1000% better next season with some confidence in his knee.

Fox sports reported Josh Morris could leave Cronulla for them to fit Ramien. He would defiently fix some of our right side defence problems. Age defiently against him but hasn't affected him much this year.

I'd rather us take Capewell off their hands and potentially go for Curtis Scott. Not sure how likely either of those are to happen.

Watching the game the commentators said that Hunt is unsigned but the Knights are keen to keep him and are in advanced negotiations with Hunt.

Article saying we have given up on Ramien, but more importantly, it quotes Canavan as saying we need little change to the playing roster and will mostly rely on juniors coming through.
"This year there'll be little turnover of players as we've got really good, talented, well prepared juniors ready to step into the senior ranks."

I don't think that is 100% right, but I am happy for the club to only sign a few real quality players from now on, and for them to wait till the right people are available.

They don't have much money to spend until 2021.

New coach can have a good look at everyone next year then go shopping.

I said at the beginning of the season it would take more than half the season to start playing as a team but they got it right earlier than that and then lost it for whatever reason. Watching the games though we were pretty to watch in a lot of games this year .
Now with 3 good playmakers with all the skills and im counting Lino along with Pearce and Ponga in that because imo by the end of a full preseason no one will be able to get that 6 shirt off him .
With a good 9 in Watson and hopefully a better one in Brailey , that's 5 very talented guys playing in our spine .
I have to say im feeling confident for next season and I would imagine Obrien is licking his lips with the line up here .
Id be pretty happy to coach a side that went something like .
1 Ponga, A bit of 2nd year syndrome for him but he will be amazing next season .

2 SKD, Hasn't missed a game and is in the top few for us every week , as long as his body is good sign him .

3 Best or Moga, Best looks the goods and Moga is a beast when playing well sp some pressure is always good .

4 Hunt, Buy of last season imo bang for our buck was great from him .

5 Lee, We missed him big time when he got hurt .

6 Lino, Everyone knows imo this kid will be a damned good player and he is only a rookie really .

7 Pearce, At his best he is right up there , a consistant year from him and were contenders with all the other talent we have.

8 Klemmer, Him passing before the line worked lovely so more of that next season .

9 Watson, Depends on the preseason I guess but I would still be starting Watson I like him in the 9.

10 Daniel, He will be right to go next season although he may have to watch out for his twin.

11 Fitzy, I don't think anyone will take his spot .

12 Barnett, Im still not sold on him but he has had some good games this year too.

13 Glasby, I think 13 is his spot but if Ese,ese were to stay id put him there and Glasby to the bench .

14 Brailey, I hope this kid is as good as people say Watson to start until Brailey shows he's better .

15 Jacob, Hopefully next season is his year to show how good he really is , if he does watch out Daniel lol.

16 Ese,ese if he stays to 13 and Glasby here .

17 Sione /King Not sure whats going to happen to Sione next season but played well coming of the bench I thought ..

Nice summary, Ethan!

Nice summary of 2019 team under Brown.

The new coach's first job will be to find that team list on Brown's desk and set fire to it.

It's funny how many people would say Ponga's had second year syndrome & probably fair enough, he's had some bad moments this year. But I would say along with that, he's actually gotten better as a player this season. His overall dominance calling for the ball has improved vastly, along with his kicking game, half due to him just developing with time & the pre-season at five-eighth probably helped. Still will have that game where he might struggle to get involved, but as a 21-year old that shouldn't be concerning, he shouldn't be expected to be our main playmaker but often times he will be just because he can make things happen.

I reckon his highlights package would be twice as long this year

Yeah totally agree I just think a few times he tried to hard instead of just letting his game flow .

Ponga is a much better player this year.
Last year we forgave his rookie errors because he did so much that was good as well.
This year he makes far fewer errors and does more good stuff, but we are not so easily impressed now.

Im still impressed, it will take something massive to stop him from being an immortal. Although a stint in Union would stuff it .

Played two years and already an immortal, haha.

I'd be pretty confident Klem, KP, Glasby, Dan, Pearce, Brailey and Lee find spots in the team next year. Outside of that who knows.

Not already but one day .

I know it's only said because of how talented how he is, but that stuff is just ridiculous. It's a post career award given to our greatest ever players who've left a huge legacy. That kind of stuff is 20 years away, who knows what can happen. Injuries, moving codes, off field stuff. Calling any 21-year old a future immortal is very silly, we just need to let that stuff go & let the kid get on with his career, he's got much to achieve yet.
