Whatever 13+4 start just give us effort, very disappointed in some selection talks but we are what we are a possible top 4 side with lots of rep players effecting our rhythm but a nice mix of potential players to lift and beat a side while playing at home, this is when we become a force, winning whilst under adversary, no matter what the result I think I will be satisfied, maybe not happy. Like everyone on here I wish I could pick our side, fortunately it’s Browns choice and I get to sit back and criticise or sit back in awe.

If we are counting injured players - game 3 2002, Ben Kennedy out injured after playing the first 2, and Robbie O picked on the wing for Qld - so 7 Knights out for origin.

So same amount out now for us with Eric injured and Barnett suspended. 7 starters unavailable

Its a huge chunck of players missing.
Though when we played Souths a few weeks ago they had 6 injured players and 2 missing on rep duty so its just part of the task to be the best team by seasons end.

A few articles around saying it's all down to Lino in this game, which is pretty unfair I think.
Our real strength in recent times has been our forward pack dominating other packs.
Pierce has been winning games behind Klemmer, Dan Saf, Glasby and Barnett while Lino will be behind the middle forwards who haven't exactly been dominating in reserve grade.
Even Levi and Watson aren't going to have the luxury of dominant forwards having them on the front foot every play, so they aren't going to have the freedom to run they have been enjoying.
To win, we'll need J Saf, Saulo, King and even Ese'ese and Gavet to really lift.
I actually think all those forwards have it in them to lift, so it might happen.

Hopefully they’ll have a pact to lift in the Origin players absence

No disrespect to the Warriors but we should have beaten them by more in NZ and they had two shaky tries awarded with one being a knock on. Plus the NZ home team calls so none of that this time around.

Losing to the Panthers the way they did was really pathetic so they will want to right those wrongs but I think the players showed against the broncos they can back their defence when needed for repeated sets (and penalties)
Warriors are as close to Broncos as a rudderless ship as they come (2-8 loss against them at home lol) so while I’d be disappointed to lose its a nice challenge for the guys

Watson
Hunt
Sione
Ramien
SKD
Mann
Lino
Gavet
Levi
King
Fitz
Buhrer
Herman

Jacob
Saulo
Guerra
Crossland

Personally I would have chucked Moga on the wing, Sione on the edge and Buhrer to bench pushing off Crossland. Wouldn't have to shuffle the spine when Levi has a rest that way. Anyway, Panthers beat the Warriors by 30 last year during Origin period missing 7 or 8 of their best side so it's happened before.

It's funny that Brown is saying Crossland can play hooker.
I remember him spending 10 minutes at hooker in under 16s once, but everyone is a potential hooker to Brown.

Brown bought Rory Kostjaysn a good hooker , unlucky with him , then Griffin a good hooker , unlucky with him. Then Mann and Watson who both play well there especially Watson . Now the kid from Cronulla who from all reports is a talent and we have a rampaging Levi at least until the end of the season . Woolford was a fail I guess .
Hopefully our team tomorrow will play exactly the same as they have been playing they all train the same together so they should play the same . Same intensity same speed same aggression if that happens we will still win .

Brown has also used a couple of others to cover the loss or Rory and the lack of Levi being able to play 80

Brown has tried heaps of guys at hooker. Costigan, Bhana, Pearsal, Feeney, Woolford, Randell, Randall even Yates spent an off season training to be a hooker, and got 10 minutes in one game to show he didn't have the passing game. I'm sure there are 2 or 3 others I've forgotten too.

On Crossland, I can remember thinking he might make a hooker in under 16s because he looked like a big guy for a half in under 16s, especially when compared to his halves partner, who was tiny (Jock Madden). Crossland was 6 foot tall and as big as most forwards in under 16s, and he had a fantastic passing game and a big motor. He still has a great passing game and big motor (he never stops working) but has not grown much and has developed his playmaking skills.

Squad reduced to 19.
Jones and Momoisea cut.
Crossland replaces Jones in the 17.
Hoy and Moga are 18th and 19th.
Hoy was supposed to join the under 20s origin camp today.

Costigan left at the end of 2013, Brown didn't start until 2016. But yeah, he does like himself a hooker does the Browny.

Propaganda, Browny has only intended for Levi, Kostjasyn & Griffin to be hookers. Everyone else was only ever used to cover injuries which can't be helped.
