Rumour: Herman Ese Ese set to leave

That would make sense except he player round 2

I'm not certain - only a fan looking in from the outside. It could be that he played the one game and he and the coaching staff then spoke about playing a few games in reserves until he's fully ready. Again, not sure. I don't think there's any ill will between Herman and the coaching staff. I remember reading something about Browny being the one who called Maguire about Herman pulling out from the NZ Test. I think they're fairly close, so I suspect that there is more to Herman's stint in reserves than form alone.

Ese says quitting the club is not an option.

He is here to work hard and cement a regular first grade spot. Great attitude if true.

Quote,
"Im here for another two years and I'm not looking elsewhere," he said yesterday. "I'm just looking to be a better player and trying to better myself each week. That's all I'm trying to do. Just working hard and keeping my head down."

Now all we need is The Mole/Buzz/Kent to confirm the rumour and I can rest easy knowing it’s not true.

Have there been any indications that he wants out? The frustration of not playing earlier in the season has passed and he’s a mainstay in the team now. 300k is ridiculously good for what he’s shown but I can’t fathom a Levi situation on being on the outer with the coach as he has a simple job which he does well.

That said if he gets more then double what he’s on now after November 1st, so be it and good luck to him.

We are very strong in the middle forwards, with our strongest including bench we still have the likes of JSaf, Saulo and King and most are mid 20’s with still a few years of improvement left, we could afford to lose 1 or 2 but wouldn’t like to especially our top 5 which includes Ese’ese.

Saulo, Jake Saifiti and Jirah Momoisea all look ready to step into firstgrade.
If we could take a 500k prop off the salary cap, put in Jirah for 100k, and spend the extra 400k on the fullback/centre/wing we need, it wouldn't be a bad deal.
If we could throw in Moga as well, we'd have some pretty decent money to spend in the next 2 weeks - just no one to spend it on.

Rumour that the Bulldogs have made Ese'ese as their top recruitment target for next year.
Comes via the Mole so take it with a shovelful of salt

The Mole's credibility has taken a big hit this year, can't get any great mail right...but then gloats about talking about some ESL player no one cares about switching clubs lol.

Don't forget this was the same Mole who claimed Ramien wanted out of Newcastle ASAP and wouldn't see out the end of the season which was debunked right away, and then once he got called out on his bad mail he just ignored everyone. Then when he realised he was wrong and his mail was incorrect he tried backpedalling and changing the narrative saying Ramien was one of the Bulldogs recruits and theyd have the cap room to make him an offer.

Last week showed Herman is probably underpaid for what he could offer. If he was somewhere else he would be starting lock playing long minutes.

Nice problem to have for the knights, but criminally underutilised getting 25 minutes off the bench.

He definitely is ahead of Gavet in the rotation imo.

I'd like to see Ese and Dan rotate with each other and Klemmer with Gavet.
Glasby with Sione/Barnett/Guerra

Dan and Ese getting roughly 40 minutes each.
Klemmer with 50 minutes
Gavet with 30 minutes
Glasby with 40 minutes
Sione etc getting the share of the other minutes.

So Ese'Ese doesn't want to leave, and Brown doesn't want him to go and says he isn't going anywhere so where's the story here other then clubs sussing out his his availability for 2020? Which is zilch anyway

Who knows with the NRL though? Anything could happen. Wouldn't surprise me if he left early with the club's permission, but I hope he stays long term.
