Pretty happy with the effort, even though the construction in attack is still a bit wobbly, it will improve. The result is the result, however Penrith were very offside at times. With 7 minutes left we had them on the rack, it would have been interesting if we had some field position in that period, refferee ignoring the offside rule and tired errors didn't allow that. All in all very promising result and I am confident the clunky attack will click soon. Onward and upward!

Disappointing end to a good game. I wish our boys just held on to the ****ing ball. We gifted them the win. Would be nice to get 1 ****in penalty for off-side , as they were off all night.
Funny but Penrith fans thought the opposite, we just didnt click, spine had Danny ok Pearce jury out, Ponga moments of brilliance and Watson, we’ll bounce of ball several times try watching/willing it to go dead, keeping ball in play almost causing a try to be knocked over by Lee, he was hurt but he was ordinary..
We supposedly have a very good centre in Ramien, pity we don’t utilise him

Watson is going to win you a game probably lose you a game unfortunately. Everyone’s handling was ordinary.

We’ve played 2 good defensive teams. We should see a little more attack against the Raiders I’d say. Ramien definitely needs earlier ball.

Last year we leaked 25 points a game. This year so far we have that at 12 points per game. We played 2 very good sides so far, I'm sure it will come in time.

Ramien is like the Ferrari in the garage as Joey says. Gotta use it, can't let it sit and look shiny in the garage.

I’d love to see Guerra or Barnett start and relegate Sione to the bench. Sione has been defensively good but his attack hasn’t been threatening. I think with Guerra or Barnett there at least for more minutes, they might drag players in and create some space for Ramien to let him loose.

Well after watching the game im still happy where were at even with a loss , as the commentator said Penrith are playing so much better this week they are showing why they are a top 4 ranked side ...Well **** they beat us by 2 points and we are no where near as good as we will be .
When we are playing smoothly as a team we are going to be a lot harder to beat and at the moment were no easy beats as it is , which is really good to say .
I think Barnett or Guerra should be starting instead of Sione probably Barnett and just because they are better attacking than Sione.
I wouldn't change the side besides that and I have to say im looking forward to watching them get better and better , mid season I reckon we will be such a more fluent side that Teams will Fear Us ..

Brown is being quoted on n NBN news update as saying the Knights weren't "hungry" enough to win.

I don't think Pearce has started this year as strongly as he started last year, and of course Watson could have showed more urgency a few times. Apart from them, I don't know who Brown is looking at - maybe Ramien.

The whole team was flat from the kickoff. They only woke up in the last 15 minutes. Lesson learned, you don't get the 2 points for free in the NRL.

We were travelling like winners until Gavet lost the ball on an early tackle. A journo asked Brown at the press conference if Glasby and Levi were hooked as a result of the Yeo try. I thought Herman could've done better there. If Brown did hook them he's not fair dinkum.

Pearce is the organiser, Ponga the gamebreaker. They both need to change it up a bit. Opposition have been all over the Ponga/Fitz link. KP needs to work the other side and link up with Sione. Fair enough we have been up against 2 good sides but both have had their off season issues.
Seemed to me Ese was hooked but the stats say quite a few players only had between 30 and 40 mins. Klem was 63.

It's looking good as a misdirect I think the double cut out pass for the first try is a reflection of teams focusing on that KP Fitz combo.. I reckon Brownie been working on alot of subtle stuff in attack and I don't think they're coming off at the moment. I don't know if that's because we've been average or the fact that the Sharks and the Panthers have strong defense's... I guess we'll see with Raiders...
Anyone else notice that Sione's averaging almost 40 tackles a game... I can't tell if teams are targeting him or if he's just getting involved.

Klemmer has made 67 tackles and missed 0.

He leads the comp with 161 post-contact metres, second place is 128m.

Ponga really impressed a lot of people with his defence.
Corey Parker would have had his queensland hat on, and been mightily impressed that Ponga looks to have all the skills he needs for 5/8, and can defend like a forward.
Matty Johns was raving about Ponga's defence after round 1.
Pearce is finding it hard to share the workload with Ponga, with him still doing almost double the number of plays as his halves partner this year - which worked last year because his halves partner had nothing to offer - but this year, Ponga should be getting much more equal billing.

You notice he had 7 missed vs Penrith? That isnt a good stat.

In 160 minutes sione has
79 tackles for 13 missed
14 hit ups for 115 meters.
Not great stats at all.

In the presser he was saying it was a dog and bone thing, they wanted the bone more.

It's just a lesson to learn and move on. Penrith had a poor first round and would have been looking to make amends, we beat a side many didn't think we would, so Penrith had a bit more hunger.

Lesson learned hopefully, 2 points don't come easy.
