2026 Knights Coaching and Football Staff

Yeah but POS chased Brown as different clubs. The Pezet rejection seems like a pretty clear rejection of the Knights.

Knights would be crazy not to try but Anasta seems to have made his thoughts on the Knights pretty clear. Unless Holbrook significantly changes things 🤷‍♀️
Tbf Pezet rejected us when most promising playmakers would have, especially if Melbourne matched our offer. That's not a knock on Newcastle - he'd be a ****ing idiot to come to the AOB halves carousel for the same money.

What 'big' club is he going to? Or rather, what 'big' club would now have a better proposition than Newcastle?

With Anastasia as his agent, the chance of Pezet being anywhere near us is like pissing into the wind. We have got wet enough in our pursuit of him to date.
Time to permanently move on.

Brisbane if he waits like one year.

With Keary not joining us as our specialist halves coach for 2026, i wouldn’t mind looking into signing Brett Kimmorley as our halves coach, recently left the Wests Tigers as NRLW Head coach and is also a Knights old boy too before leaving for the Hunter Mariners at Super League, he’d do a world of good for Dylan Brown and Sandon Smith.

POS has shown that prior rejection won't deter him. I wonder if the roster changes and (probably more importantly) coaching changes could change Pezet's mind. I don't really care, just positing.

Don't you mean "could change Anastas mind" as he seems hell bent on avoiding us.

Why don't we try and lure James Maloney as a halves coach, seems like wherever he goes success follows.

Because he's by all reports one of the most annoying blokes who's ever lived. Why he never stuck more than 3 years at any club as a player too. No doubt he knows the game but he'd probably wear out his welcome pretty quick.

Yeah not a bad shout. Wonder if Holbrook's ever had anything to do with him?

Are we looking at a halves coach for a full time job or a part time job?

If part time, why not Cooper Cronk. Get him for 2 or 3 days a week and Holbrook would have a relationship with him as they would have worked together at the Roosters

Or did I miss that Cronk has already said no

Think Luke Burt worth considering as part of team won comp with Burleigh in q cup could have possibly been assistant under Holbrook at titans too
