I’d love to see our coach just setup a good attacking structure. Sharpe on the right, brown on the left with Ponga sweeping out the back or supporting through the middle.
Not sure who our hooker will be, but would love to see Friz or Crokes start at lock, and then have Crossland play lock after 20 mins. Similar to how Dyl Walker, Kurt Mann, Loiero, play. This is the best modern attacking structure, and Crossland is great in that middle field distributor role.
For all the talk about Brown, I do think he is a great runner, and straightens and holds the defence really well. Which will be great for Ponga, something we’ve lacked for years. Cogger is awful at this, among most things, and Hastings has just become to slow.

I've already mentioned in past threads not wanting Blake Green considering he has no NRL head coach experience and should consider Super League if he wants to head coach.
For me in no particular order, I would go for one out of Peters, Arthur, Morris or Holbrook.
Any of those blokes would be a upgrade over AOB.
Peters, Morris and Holbrook have all been at the Knights before either as a player or coach and would have an idea of what works and wouldn't.
Arthur did a solid job with Parra and already has a good rapport with our new marquee signing.
Ideally I'd also want to see a new attacking coach with any of those 4 guys and possibly keep McDermott on as the defence coach.

The fact the club is apparently entertaining handing the coaching role at a professional sporting team, in the top competition in the world for that sport, to a person who has never coached a team before as a head coach at any level of the sport, to me is very concerning. Bordering insanity.
Certainly incompetence.
And it appears they already have Green pegged for the job, so I am concerned confirmational bias is going to lead them to hiring him.
Having said that, who knows, maybe Green comes in and does a fantastic job. Could lead us to the promised lands and we could go on a 10 year run of success and premierships. If Green gets the job he gets a fair crack at it before I start a sack Green thread I promise.

Need to be careful using super league winning % as a basis. It’s a very different standard of comp and there’s a big jump between the few “haves” and the rest of the “have nots” in the comp. Peters record is a little more impressive when you consider Hull isn’t really one of the big clubs.
Saying that though I think I’d still prefer a coach that has experience coaching their own team, even if just in the super league, over Green.

I can't get my head around why there is no progression system in place for coaches anymore. Benji went from I want to coach, to assistant with a view to taking over the NRL role, to suddenly NRL coach without having built up any experience running teams in lower grades.
Green appears to be on the same trajectory with us.
If the club wants Green as head coach someday, why isn't he put straight in charge of a lower grade team. Give him the rails run on NRL stuff, expose him to the coaching within the NRL, basically an apprenticeship getting him ready to step in to the role.
Being an assistant, you are not in charge of the whole show. Don't need to make the calls on when to sub someone in, or off, don't have to manage all the little things at the same time like rehab injuries, recovery after games, prepping them for games, peak performance stuff, training routines, diet, strategy, defence and endless other stuff. Now, I don't believe AOB is in control of all these things, but he needs to be across them all, touching base with each staffy in charge of those areas, and using all that data in to team selections etc.
Taking an assistant that runs their corner of the show and reports up the chain, and putting them at the top of that chain with everyone reporting to you is a massive ask.

If there was a betting market, I’d be putting my money on Green not being our head coach next year.
There’s been so much talk of him taking over in the press for quite some time now, it’s starting to get the feel of, while everyone discusses Green, we’ll find ourselves a coach without the media distraction.
Here’s hoping anyway.

Im not so sure about that. There are some deceivingly cheap players in there and a distinct lack of forward depth onto the bench, which is a trade off for a stacked 13.

I’m not sure why Brad Arthur’s “unwanted finals record” continued to be a black mark against him when his team made a grand final immediately after that…Can someone explain how Arthur or Holbrook is whipping up such a frenzy? I’m just trying to find stats on how many grand finals they’ve cleaned up together but having trouble?……..
