If we were thinking of Moriarty, why would we not consider Jacob Davis who’s barely getting time in our cup side since the arrival of Arthur? He’s been performing anytime he gets on but they are clearly trying to get Arthur game time. If they were playing hookers for form I’d select Davis over Arthur I’ve loved watching him since he arrived back here last year. I think someone mentioned he didn’t even get a preseason training up with NRL this year? He be a cheap sign on I’m sure.If we are lookin at Hookers, I know the roosters would find a way to keep him but he has dropped in their pecking order
Tyler Moriaty would be someone who could chase
Has all the hype coming up but hasn’t been able to break into their side and now he would be 3-4tg choice next year for them if stayed so the starting spot here could be enticing
I like when he runs in behind the ruck. Have really noticed his speed doing this and getting us on the front footCrossland does a fair impersonation of an old fashioned second receiver (5/8) when he is playing 13 - a link man who spreads the ball to the flanks.

We could but the fact they tried to get De Silva and that Davis in the last month has been demoted to 18th man in cup seems like maybe the powers to be might not rate him so we might have to look outsideCan we just try our own 9s in cup and lower before we go looking outside. Davis deserves a go.
abit disappointing over all. He looked really promising in the trials. He hasn’t been terrible but hasn’t stood out either. He’s a running threat though which I’d love to see in our FG hooker for once.Has Arthur actually been any good in Cup though?
Agree-I think he’s a good under 19s NSW hooker playing against other under 19s but he’s performed the same way he did for Eels last year after his dad left. Lacklustre, gets caught out with his size and leaves the forwards working harder due to his defence. Yeah gets through the tackles but watch what they class as his tackles. Yes a running threat but also exposed when he runs and shut down quick. He’s not an 80 min hooker which is ok but they seem to want to put him there. A few weeks back they actually used him and Davis perfectly and gave him a spell when needed and Davis straightened up the pack and had them on their toes. Why he’s fallen out of favour is beyond me from what I see that he brings. Has he got a deal elsewhere perhaps?abit disappointing over all. He looked really promising in the trials. Tallyn Da Silva is a quality signing.
Ryles has made quite a number at the Eels.
I believe Ryles wants players to compete for certain positions. Ryley Smith and Tallyn Da Silva will compete, and I expect Ryley Smith to extend with the Eels.
Shibaski was given endless opportunities but had hands for feet. Fans were calling for his head long before he was finally moved on.How guys get coached at Newcastle frustrates the **** out of me. Using guys wrong or not enough for them to go elsewhere and kill it. Disappointed Riley Jones is moving on after being moved all over the place. Plus you’ve got guys like Shibasaki getting an origin call up after struggling to get a consistent run with us.
We seem to do this all the time. Didn’t Greg Inglis fail to get a crack in the lower grades for us once?![]()
There it is.

It's exactly as I already mentioned.
Those two will push each other.
Ryles is clever.
This is very true some people have short memories, Shiba had more than enough chance for us, but let’s face it when he was here he failed to show any talent in the nrl time and time again.Shibaski was given endless opportunities but had hands for feet. Fans were calling for his head long before he was finally moved on.
He then went on to have an uninspired Japanese union stint, then failed to crack first grade for more than a couple of games at Souths and Cowboys.
He's just a late bloomer, took a long long time to pull it together. As a NSW fan, I hope it crumbles next Wednesday.
