Soccer training finishes at 7:30, should hopefully make it home in time to watch this one!

Not expecting a lot, but a solid effort and not a battering is all I can hope for.

I'm interested to see how Lachy Fitz comes back into the side, I wouldn't move Barnett from the edge as I think he's better suited there than in the middle. But at the same time Fitz off the bench would probably carry a similar role to Jones.

Could we not even see Fitzgibbon make the cut for first grade, and have to find his way back through NSW Cup?

I'm the opposite. Barnett needs to play in the middle because he can go "missing" under fatigue in defence.

I think Barnett tends to have more of an impact in the middle as well ... and had a few “strings in the horns section” moments on the edge ... although has probably proven to be a better wide runner than Fitzgibbon has been the last few years. And it’s not his fault he seems to be seen as a kicking option on the fifth way too often lol.

I’m expecting Penrith to win quite comfortably, especially at home. I just cross my fingers that we can at least match them in most departments and not play anywhere near like we did vs Titans. I just want them to compete on every play and do the 1% plays right. If we can beat them on their turf it would be one of the great upsets. Brisbane rattled them a bit so let’s hope they’re due for a loss soon.

They cant win every game...or maybe they saving the loss for grand final day again.

I heard one of the betting agencies prices on the radio the other day - Panthers $1.11 and Knights $6.50 for this game...based on where we are at this season, it is probably an accurate reflection of our chances on Thursday.

One thing that does buoy me is that our last game at this ground against Penrith ended in a 14 all draw and I'm not sure we are any worse off in terms of our squad and Penrith are pretty close to the same squad from memory.

If we can dig in, guts it out and minimise our errors for the 80 minutes, I'll be happy for a close game on the scoreboard along with us building some resilience, confidence and consistency of effort out of this game....

Ohhh....AND HAVE NO MORE INJURIES!!!!

Wasn't the draw we had with them last year at Campbelltown?

I want to believe we can beat them, but then reality kicks in and I accept that we are going to be defeated and can only hope its not a blow out.

Only a magical recovery would have altered that side, best we have, hope Toa is ok to go, if the forwards get stuck in we will give them a game, if not a walk over

If they all go in 100% committed to playing there best and do , we can most definitely Win . They need to start at 100% from the kick off , when we do we usually play good footy and Penrith arn't unbeatable .If we play as a team we will win .

The 14 all draw with Penrith last year seemed like a good result at the time - but in hindsight, it was one of our best ever games.
Pearce went down early and kids like Randall, Jones, Hoy and Best had massive games to keep us in it. It's still hard to believe that Randall did 71 tackles and Jones did 50 on debut.
Penrith went on to have a record breaking season, having a win over every team in the comp at least once - except us. They played us once for a draw.

I have no doubt that the 14 all draw will be spoken about with the players during the week.

But I just feel that, since that moment, Penrith have become a far better side than they were, meanwhile we have regressed.

I'm not confident of anything more than a 1-12 loss, however I was also not confident of beating the Sharks.

I'll happily be wrong on this one, but I'm tipping Penrith 13+

Panthers 13+

They will not be happy with last Thursday nights performance..

Can't see our forwards being physical for 80 minutes like the broncos were.

Hard to see us winning. That being said just hope we make a good accounting for ourselves and don't cop anymore injuries. Raiders winnable next week with hopefully a few more troops returning.
