Round 1 team.

Crossland put up a well directed kick for Dom and he didn't come down with it, so that was a bit disappointing.
I'm not sure he is the 200cm claimed in his profile. In the team photo he looked a bit shorter than Klem and Lee (198cm) and about Saifiti sized (196cm)

I haven't watched the game back and had a few distractions watching it live, but the guy who stood out to me was Jones. He looked strong and wasn't afraid to promote the ball if something was on outside him.

Hmm Ethan got T'oa on both wings. Obviously he must be a great talent?
Haha man im getting old lol I meant Hunt on the other wing . Maybe thats how good Toa will be that he can play both wings at the same time lol.

I think Crossland will be a shadow player for Pearce this year and will start the year at halfback in reserve grade, with Mann at 5/8 till Green is ready.
Crossland needs to get the rust out of his kicking game. He put several kicks into the ingoal on the full on the weekend.

OBI stated around a month ago that Crossland will get opportunities this season in the top grade. I believe that this opportunity will come via the bench in a utility role when Mann has been called up into the starting side to cover injury.

Pearce’s kicking game has turned to complete crap. I hope if Crossland is given the chance at some stage barring Green’s comeback that he gets a fair chunk of the kicking duties.

I honestly don't see what Pearce offered last year, running game was crap, he got lined up and smashed every time never hit the game, his pass selection was questionable and his kicking game was woeful.

If Pearce comes good from round 1, I'm bringing back my theory that living in a settled relationship ruined his game.

Or maybe I'll come up with a new one that having an affair with a co-worker left him a nervous wreck.

I think the bubble had more to do with him totally losing form last year than anything else.

Now restrictions have eased it’ll be easier for all the players. He’ll have a good year.

Throwing a slightly different team suggestion out:

1. Mann
2. Toa
3. Best
4. Tuala
5. Hunt
6. Crossland
7. Pearce
8. Klem
9. Brailey
10. DSaf
11. Barnett
12. Friz
13. Watson
14. Randall/Hoy
15. JSaf
16. Sue
17. Jones

I dont hate it, I would be happy to give Hoy a shot at 1, maybe look at something like that if it doesn't work. Mann at 1 is a bit of an unknown as well.
