Looking at the positives so far in amongst the frustration....

- We have the 4th best defence as far as points conceded (54 points at 13.5 points a game)
- We have the equal 5th best completion rate (77%)
- We have the equal 4th lowest amount of errors (42)
- We have the 4th lowest amount of ineffective tackles (54)
- All of our losses have been 7 points or less with our overall performances being average
- Improvement from last year on Metres, Post Contact Metres, Tackle Breaks, Tackle Efficiency, Kick Metres and Penalties conceded after 4 rounds

Well let’s put it down to the Ponga switch not working how we thought.

I think what everyone has a hard time copping is all those games were winnable, I thought Raiders was our worst game. And thought Sharks could have went either way. But we definitely gave 4 points away to Penrith and Dragons

IMO the Dragons loss was worse. Less errors and missed tackles than the Raiders loss. In the Dragons game, we had a better chance to execute but didn’t.

It comes more into perspective when you remember we played our best football for the year last year in the early rounds, and I think we all expect the team still has a lot of improvement in them after the first 4 rounds this year.

The thing with Ramien this year is that he is having a lot of runs but they are mostly just scoots from dummy half or hit ups.
He needs the halves to put him through gaps or get him the ball where he is one on one with a defender.
This just isn't happening on the right side of our attack so far this year.
I've said the same myself re right side. Hopefully Lino can fix that a bit, thought he showed a bit of potential to do that on the weekend.
I don't reckon we're getting enough out of our backrow in general, except Glas. Brown needs to settle on a coupe of blokes for the backrow and get some more props/impact on the bench.
Weird how the dogs are going well now. Any opinions on that anyone...

That's some positive stats, from memory wasn't it cowboys one year that lost 3 in a row at start on season and Thurston was geting hit late hard on his kicks, then they readjusted their game abit giving him more time.
That was the year they won the comp aswell.
Anyways if we still playing crap by round 10-12 then its bad look I guess

If nothing has changed and we’re still playing crap by round 10-12 our season will be over anyway.

If, IF? Ponga doesn’t play Saturday and Sione, Mann and Watson carrying injuries who plays full back and can we call on someone outside extended squad to play even though no bright shining star in reserves for f/b.
My thought is Moga in with Hunt or Lee to f/b, would leave no back for bench. Don’t think it will be required but was interested in thoughts.

Watson to FB if KP didn't play, rest of the side as announced.

I think PCM's are over rated unless a line break is made. More concern should be put into hitting the D line at speed and getting a quick PTB giving the D line less time to get organised. Could be part of the reason our attack has fired this year.

Sione and Mann are out.
Barnett is starting at 12.
Watson and King to the bench.

Herman and Moga still on extended.

Manly are 1-17 as named.
