Danny Levi requests a release

He has had the wake up call he needed! He is still a selfish brat but hasn't got the heart to start somewhere new! With the new, more established signings, he has pulled his head in! He knows that this club is his best chance at a starting spot and is working his arse off! That's not to say if another club promises more he won't **** off! He'll fit in if it suits him, which it does right now, but him and Brown don't see eye to eye and he is definitely keeping his options open! I personally hope he stays and grows up a little bit???
 
Whatever is going on between the Club and Levi, I hope he stays and absolutely kills it. Trains hard, plays hard and makes the spot his own. He’s certainly got the talent. He’ll also have Woolford nipping at his heels, and Woolford sounds hungry for an opportunity so it should keep Levi on his toes.
 
Levi asking for a release due to possibly signing Luke is not unlike Pearce getting a release from Roosters due to them signing Cronk, funny how one is ok as it suits our agenda. They all want to play first grade even if it means leaving a club you love and have developed in. It's a cutthrope business and if it wasn't we would have nothing to talk about.

Honestly, the guy can't win, asks for a release and is smashed for it forever more, decides to stay and it's now "he doesn't have the heart to start somewhere new"!

You guys are a riot.

Didn't we get Klemmer because he wasn't happy with his deal at the Dogs? Reportedly going to earn double in one year with us vs what he was going to get next year at the dogs due to a front loaded contract, so I read.

I don't expect any of these blokes on here will be happy we have such a brat come to the club. What a poor attitude this Klemmer has lol.

Oh thats right, it was personal reasons.

It’s not really the same though

Pearce has played over 200 NRL games for Easts, led them to a premiership, played origin & was a former club captain with 10 years experience.

Levi had 50 games? In a couple of wooden spoon sides, although he was coming off a World Cup for the Kiwis which I think is what made him think he was entitled to his jersey.

The other major difference was Pearce was told he wouldn’t be the 7 in fact he wasn’t even in the running to be the 6 !!! They told him they were going to make him the best No.14 in the game lol for a player with his resume that was an insult. I’m fairly sure if they told him he had a chance to be the 5/8 he would have stayed.

On the other hand Levi requested a release because he didn’t like having to fight Slade Griffin for his spot, Pearce was replaced by Cronk, big difference battling Cronk compared to Griffin.
 
Jeez its hard to believe anything in footy now a days. Klemmer coming here for 1.2 mill then signs for $860,000 then you read that he was on $800,000 at the dogs . Then you read that he is actually on less for the next 2 years here than he was there . As far as Levi is concerned he got a taste of first grade before he should and doesn't want to go back to the bench or reserves , that's fair enough I would probably be the same . Had a taste of Lobster does;nt want to go back to bread and water that's understandable .

It has finally sunk in to him that he won't walk into a starting spot with another team, at this stage, that may change with player movement?
He could leave, but no, he doesn't have the heart to risk ending up in a worse position than he is now!
So for now he is working hard and is trying to earn his spot here, because that is currently his best option!
Do you ever get any inside oil Kuzza, or do you just sit back and sh!t pot people that do???

The job security here helps. 5 years for a prop hitting his peak is a fantastic deal.
Also I knew all along Buzz was wrong about the rumoured figures for Klemmer the second Gardner debunked it when he addressed it to the media, so I was never worried and knew the deal would be a good one worth his value.

Dogs fans are just butt hurt he doesn't want to be apart of their mess...In a perfect world, he'd finish that contract. But we've been on that end too.

As for the stuff where he wanted to get away from Sydney because his wife didn't get along with his family, probably true. Apparently she didn't get along with the other players WAGs as well. Big who cares for mine. He looked really relieved and happy to come here, so it's a clean slate as far as I'm concerned.
 
In today’s world it seems these players are like egg shells and the slightest bump will make them crack, if it’s not injury it’s off field issues or behaviour or they don’t get along with the coach or their wife doesn’t like the other players wives or they’re not happy with the deal they signed 12 months ago or they don’t like having to fight for their position !!!

Let’s just hope we can keep everyone happy enough for long enough to win a comp

True but it really isn't that bad, a few players change teams per year for these reasons which get a lot of attention. But the percentage of player transfers from a player being released early for these reasons would be low.

You also have clubs signing players and wanting them gone mid contract so it works both ways.
 
Danny Levi is a champion. Saw me walking to the train station pulled over and offered me a lift to training. Which he didn’t have to. Him and his girlfriend are great people looking forward to see Danny rip in this year and have a massive crack.
