Wow thanks so much Billy, you’re knowledge on this is top notch

Good to see that even when bringing guys in from outside the area they seem to have been here a few years so our development team seems to be doing a top job

Surprised to not see Brandon Russell on the list. Must have gone back to QLD???

Turnbull - Ipswich Jets MM [hooker/2nd row]
Lucas - Illawarra Steelers SG Ball
Afu - Eels system
Lee - Tweed Heads Seagulls HDC [Tall rangy centre/2nd row]
Fiu - Knights SG Ball
Leilua - Roosters system

Russell is a big loss if he left. He was getting better every game towards the end of last season - best on field in one game I thought.

Your on the mark Billy. But a few mistakes. But pretty much on point.

Huth - Never played Nsw Origin
Bradman - Never played Nsw Origin u16s a year young -
Alexander - Never Played Nsw Origin u18s
Kobe Davis - was in the pathways but never played Nsw Origin
Purcell - Never played Aus Schoolboys
Wilkinson - Never played Nsw origin - Was in pathways u16s as a country player
Black - Never played Nsw Origin

Did the Knights end up signing Farrar hooker Max Altus. His name has been linkedwith the knights through the media. Australian schoolboy hooker 2018. If so wouldn't he be in the u20 squad.

He was doing some training with them, But last i herd he wasnt with anyone. Max has trialled for a few clubs in the past, Knights, Parra and the dogs i believe and unsuccessful.
Max is a good player, Strong, Quick but has played various positions over the past 3 years, Hooker, Lock, Center, Fullback.
Is he a quality hooker..? I am yet to be convinced.
He is a great kid from a quality family. But did have a bit of luck on his side making Nsw CHS and Aus Schoolboys this year.
I wish him all the luck and hope he secures a club and gets an opportunity.

Australian schoolboys beat Yorkshire acadamies 30-22
Sounds like they tried a lot of players in different positions and had about 10 players on the bench.
Toa started at fullback and scored our first try.
Alexander started at centre.
Harry Croker started in the second row.
Best and Madden started on the bench.
Best set up the winning try.

Terrible game billy. Our boys were dominated up the middle. Whether we tried different players in various positions i think our boys went in pretty cocky. Credit to Yorkshire as they were the better team.
Games will only get harder from here.

I don't know about the current opposition, but last time the schoolboys were over there a few of the academy players had already played ESL and a lot of them had trained with ESL squads. They are basically 19 year olds already in ESL systems.

Yeah your right. I hard when they play the England national team 12 players have played ESL already which will be a tough contest for our boys.
There next game on Saturday will be another tough test as they beat the team the Aussie boys just beat last night.

To be honest Billy. Iv really been impressed with Starford Toa he is something special.

3rd game of the Australian schoolboys tour was a 30-18 win over Lancashire academies. Bradman Best scored two impressive tries and set up another.

I expect Toa and Best will get 2 of the remaining 3 development spots when they get back and spend some time training with firstgrade.
I think Toa is a chance to play firstgrade by the end of the season.
Matt Croker, Mitch Andrews or Tex Hoy should get the other spot.

Bradman Best had a field day for the Australian Schoolboys this weekend.

Best was a standout performer as the Aussies beat Lancashire Academy 30-18 in Manchester.

Signed with the nib Newcastle Knights until the end of 2022, Best scored a double.

The centre also played a hand in a try.

Quick hands to Stephen Crichton saw the winger stroll over the line for a 14-8 lead at halftime.

After a solid first half, Best dominated the final stanza of the game.

His first try was early into the second half, burning his outside man with his speed.

His second came when he ran a hard line into a hole to close the game.

The Australian side have won three from three warm-up games ahead of their first Test against England Academy in Leigh.
