This was on sporting news, not sure if there is any truth to it.

Lamb will join the Canterbury-bound Jack Cogger on the departures list, while Sporting News Australia's rumour hound The NRL Lurker reports the club has put star recruit Connor Watson on the market after just 12 appearances.

Heralded as a future star, there are still question marks over his halves credentials with his creativity and ball-playing abilities coming under the microscope.

He has previously excelled in the fullback role, however Origin weapon Kalyn Ponga has the No.1 jumper tied up for the next four seasons.

Watson is set to partner the returning Pearce in this round's clash against Parramatta in a combination that is likely to leave Lamb in NSW Cup for the remainder of the year.

Pearce makes a welcomed comeback after 10 weeks on the sidelines with a pectoral tear with his side only managing to win two out of nine games in his absence

Even if he wasnt working out as our 5/8 why wouldnt we keep him for other positions?

Why would we be shopping Watson around when his the only other half apart from Pearce we have signed for next year. The lurker is talking rubbish again.

Seems odd, if Watson goes we have no ready made 5/8 and if we find one other than Ponga he can cover a variety of positions playing off bench.
I find it hard to believe unless something is amiss that we are totally unaware off, you would think that if shopping Watson they would keep Lamb in case or do we have someone else?

The only way i can see it being true is if we have signed a big name half.
But even then why wouldnt we keep Watson?

Well, if he was happy to play as a utility, he'd be a perfect squad member.
Not a half.
Never has been.
Never will be.
Don't know why people on here keep pretending he is.

Any player with a good running game could do what he does. Ken Sio could replace him and you'd hardly notice the difference.

Wow. That’s a bit of a cop out post.

I’m definitely of the opinion he’s not a genuine half. Said it from day dot when we were rumoured to be after him, so before we even signed him. The bench utility role is ideal for him, but in most squads he’s probably one of your best 13, so he’ll start and likely play 80 minutes. I think fullback is his best position, followed by hooker then five-eighth.

With all of that said, he’s still a positive influence on the field, even with number 6 on his back. He plays with great energy, is a strong in line defender, has an explosive/dynamic running game, and is versatile. He’s a playmaker, only not so much for others, but making plays out of nothing for himself (line breaks, half breaks, tackle busts, etc). To say you could put Sio there and wouldn’t notice the difference, that’s laughable.

As for everyone pretending he’s a half, I’m not sure who here believe that’s his best position, but fact of the matter is he’s playing five-eighth because of Brown, so he’s a half. Literally. Plays there every week.

When Watson was going well at fullback against Canterbury, Bedsy said he needed to have a good game because there were a lot of questions about his form.
Not on here, obviously, but many are looking at his skillset and are not impressed.

To me a running half still needs to have ball playing abilities. He has a short ball? That's about all I've seen tbh. The bloke is much better suited to the 14 jersey but carries on about wanting a starting spot. Your not sharting stars Mr Connor Watson so back in line with the rest.

Fullback in D.... 6 in attack.
Yawn

You must have creamed your pants at this prospect?

Yeah stuff him and his tries and try assists.
