It's probably more to do with the repeated offences, sacked from 3 clubs is a pretty big mark against his name for the NRL. The individual offences themselves, aren't that bad.

Agreed, Carney is repeat offender who has been given several chances to show he has got his act together, others had one, admittedly very serious, incidents now having there chance. It's a pity we don't have a rule of forgiveness based on serious charge/misconduct. Based on guilty of a crime, serious, then should be sorry we cannot forgive that, go get a real job. Carney was young and foolish but didn't commit a crime just made too many mistakes.

Yes repeat offender which is why the NRL is hesitant on him. I'm just defending his character as a human being, I could be forgetting something but all his stuff ups have just been silly, drunken antics. The only serious thing was drink driving. He just loves his booze a bit much. There'd be a lot of people out there that would have taken much worse drunken photos of themselves on a night out. I'd prefer him being around a club a thousand times over anyone that thinks it's okay to bash their girl or brutally assault someone with little reason.

Surprised the Sharks would let him go early but then again contracts aren't worth much these days

Could be a game changer for the Cowboys, He seems alot happier and more of a threat at fullback

According to the guy on Cowboys forum the final year is in Holmes favour of whether he wants to activate it or not. Said he has spoken to a Sharks recruitment officer as well as other who confirmed that. Who knows. He isn’t a poster that posts crap and been on the site for many years though.

Coote apparently wants a lot more then we are willing to offer and a return to Sydney is likely I believe.

I had a look at Val's profile after seeing your post this morning, Forgot he was only 22 as he has been around for a few years

If the option is in Val's favour then yeah that helps the Cowboys

How are you feeling about it ??

Yea still surprising very young. Would love him to come home though wouldn’t expect the best out of him immediately at fullback. What he would bring is the constant threat from anywhere on the park. Something the Cowboys don’t have.

Coote is a tough one. He is so underrated with his organisation but is lacking the attacking polish he had in 15/16. Would of been good to move into 5/8th if we didn’t get TMM.

Think he is better off getting one last payday in Sydney especially if we land Holmes.
