Dsaf is the real concern for mine. This isnt form, its effort. Theres two reasons which could explain his lack of effort.

1. He is insulted that his starting spot was given to two imports and he feels as though his effort in previous years has amounted to nothing for him, and perhaps his brother feels the same. Could also be that Levi is upset about similar things and there is trouble within some portion of the playing group atm

2. He has another 2 years to run on his contract, so he's in cruise mode

Imo if both Dan and Jake turned up to play hard yesterday, we'd probably win that game. They are so crucial for us through the middle because without them all we have is Heighno, who carried them yesterday

surprised they didn't put 40 on us...
outmuscled, out-hustled, outclassed and out-paced...won the penalty count and still finished third in a two-team contest...
how bad are you going when the grand-old-man of the forward pack is your hardest runner? nothing from the rest of these weak-kneed wonders...
hate the ****house flat style of attack we use and what a relief that the guys concentrated really hard on defense in the off-season...
it was one thing to beat an error-riddled manly and a proven-to-be-crap raiders but when we've come up against the good 'uns well, we've just gone to water so sadly, no change there from seasons prior...
Ponga stands too deep at fullback but at least he's zippy and fast on his feet 'cos he's the only back that looks even remotely threatening...
so ****, again...just hurry up and get back into the bottom four where we belong...

They defend out wide do they?

Honestly I'm not sure what you know about league but its very little... If they fixed the 1% so to speak, our D out wide would still be school boy

What's up with the saifitis?

Brown not happy with his players that have been in the system for several years in press conference. Said it two or three times.

Is he wrong?

Lamb, Sione, Twins, Barnett... The mistakes our there but the effort areas are even worse... I think we can beat the broncos though so 3/5 isnt too bad if we can jag a win at home on Saturday

To be frank, we’ve been an abysmal franchise for the last fourteen years.

Brown is the type of manager who plays favourites.
All the guys he favours are going well.
All the guys he doesn't favour are underperforming.
For the life of me, I can't think why that would be.
You would think all the players who aren't in brown's good books would be busting their guts to impress him, even if he clearly shows that he doesn't reward effort.

I also can't work out why players are going out of their way to sign up to play under Garth Brennan at the Titans and are now putting in whole hearted efforts for him. Sure, Brennan is an open and honest straight shooting sort of guy who respects all his players and doesn't play mind games, but apart from that, what else does he have going for him?

Just watched the full match replay, and I hate stewing on this kind of stuff as we just didn’t deserve to win yesterday, but Heighno’s flat pass to Saifiti seconds before half time was in no way forward - Pearce through the gap with Ponga charging hard behind in support to go under the posts.

That changes the game in a huge way, 20-18 going into the sheds with the Dragons surely nervous.

These are things that come with supporting the Knights however :(

Add that to the Dragons pass to Ah Mou that clearly went forward from the hands.

It's ok for us to sit and say what kind of attitude players should have to being knocked off their perch so to speak but I've got no doubt you're right. Dsaf and Levi busted their anus last year and have lost their spots. It's fair enough that form from last year counts for nothing but explain that to these blokes when they see Barnett retain his spot with no pre season or trial. In the fair dinkum department even Barnett knew Dsaf was our player of the year last year. I really like Barnett as a footballer but also for the fact he's a straight shooter. He says he's down on form obviously playing wounded yet Brown persists rather than getting him right.

I have no doubt that when we score there the outcome of the game is very different .

We we're not allowed to win that game with some horrendous calls against us that killed our momentum.

We did our own fair share of mistakes but calls like the forward pass against us and allowing their forward pass for the try had a bigger impacy on the end result.

No it didn't, the ref didn't break our line, or rush up in D, the ref didn't drop the ball for us! Sure, the ref didn't help us, we didn't get the 50/50's but it's an away game against a top team in the NRL, you have to expect the 50/50's are not going to go your way and turn up to play with the intensity to counter that. Our coaching staff should have them amped prior to game, us vs them, cauldron style thinking that we are running in to hostile territory, they hate you etc etc.

Instead it looks like we run out for an opposed session where we don't want to hurt them.

You obviously haven't played competitevely to understand how dodgy calls can kill any momentum in a contest ?

Had that pass not been called forwaed before halftime and we score I guarantee you it would have been a very different contest in the second half!!

I love it when someone tries to discredit your opinion by making some assumption about the person they have never met and have no idea what I have done in my life. :giggle:

I don't have time for fairy tales and if's and buts. The fact is we didn't turn up with anywhere near the intensity we should have for that game.

That one call went against us that certainly cost us 6 points, whats your excuse for the 20 minute period prior to that where the Dragons were running rampant?

The issue is that he made it there not by playing well but by Barnett playing like ****, that's the truth. Daf didn't knock down the door at all to get that starting spot yesterday.

If they're feeling entitled due to our efforts last year then god help us.

The same Titans team that had 50 put on the last week or does that go against your useless agenda?

Or they could’ve continued to dominate us through the middle and exploited or poor edge defence just like they did for pretty much the entire game and the forward pass call would have made little or no difference.
