Not only Warner, but Travis Head and Paine as well.

Nothing against Paine, but what a great idea in the BBL playing Peter Hanscomb as 'keeper, which would strengthen the batting. Hohns 'back to the future' has been a real disaster playing Cameron White who looks old and gaunt, can't hit the ball, runs out batting partners and dropped the easiest catch of his career and enabling the Poms to get to a good score.

Those 13 wides and 1 no ball really bit us on the bum!

Australia won the toss and will bowl first

10 overs gone and England are 5/18 which includes 2 extras

Hazlewood has 3/8 from 5 overs, Cummins has 2/10 from 5 overs

I can't remember the last time a team had this bad a start in an ODI

I think Pakistan did something similar a few years ago against the West Indies in the World Cup

Morgan is gone now just as this partnership between him and Ali looked dangerous

England 6/61 after 22 overs

Woakes is in now and he has 53 not out and 39 not out from his last 2 innings

Australia can't afford to relax, Go for the throat and finish them quickly

Australia require 197 runs to win from 50 overs @ 3.94 rpo

All out 196. Not a bad score from 5/8!

When Hazelwood and Cummins are out of the attack not a lot to offer. Why woukld Smith bowl Head before? Our batting strength worries me with White, Head and Warner all unreliable at times.

Once again we can't put them away

England were 5/8 at one stage, No way they should've got 196 :fist:

If England last 4-5 partnerships can score that many surely our blokes can produce a chase of nearly 200.
Wicket would have settled from early on so we should get the best of the batting, think the bowling was ok it was the wicket doing a bit first 10 then settling down.

He batted well, I think the side is short a specialist batsman, replace White and bring in a batsmen, drop Zampa, my side, Warner, Finch, Head, Smith, Maxwell, Marsh, Stonis, Paine, Cummins, Starc and Hazelwood. 3 specialist bowlers plus 4 all rounders to bowl 50 overs. Finch for White, Maxwell for Zampa.

Great innings but he had a fair amount of good fortune. Warner and White are so far out of form. Warner just cannot resist poking at the ball delivered across his body. I blame this T20 crap where batsmen are forced to look for a boundary every ball to score 9/10 an over.

Coming back to a 50 over game is difficult to control the lust for runs to 6 an over, and as for Test Matches 3 per over, players have forgotten how to build an innings. This is sure true of the Poms who play a great shorter game but liable to collapse in the five day game.
