Offical: Manly Sign Uate for 2 years

Halve it with tax and then divide it by the next 40 years and see how long it lasts?
Brown didn't put the contract in front of him either!

You two Dills would be able to start an argument in an empty room! Dig up!

He doesn't have too divide it by 40 though really , its not like he will never work again after footy..

U are a clown Lol... If Uate was smart enough.. Or more to the point his accountant is. 60% of his pay would Go directly into a super fund which is what most people do with 150k plus wages and the rest in investments... That's how rich people stay rich and pay no tax

Or maybe his a west pumping the pokies Lol

There's a limit of $30,000 a year for those aged under 50 and $35,000 a year for those aged 50 and over for all before-tax contributions. This includes salary sacrifice, Superannuation Guarantee and other employer contributions. Anything that exceeds these limits will be taxed at the highest rate of 49%.

That's why you have 2 counterparts both putting in 30g each into superfunds. Hence tinklers family just becoming rich overnight haha.

[FONT=&amp]NEWCASTLE remains hopeful of releasing veteran winger Akuila Uate to a rival club this season in a bid to free up significant space under the salary cap.

The Knights are currently in negotiations with Manly and English club Warrington about picking up Uate.

The Fijian flyer has one year remaining on his contract, worth approximately $485,000.

However, Uate hasn’t played NRL since round 12 after a reported falling out with coach Nathan Brown.

The former Test and Origin winger has struggled to replicate his best form for some years now and Newcastle officials would be happy to part ways.

This would allow the Knights vital breathing space under the salary cap, even if they pay out a portion of his big dollar contract.

While Warrington has been linked to Uate, it’s understood the flyer is reluctant to move his young family to the north of England.

This leaves Manly as Uate’s most likely destination in the NRL if the Sea Eagles can agree on a release with the Knights in the coming weeks.

Read on Barry Toohey's article in the Sunday Telegraph that Jake Mamo and Tyler Randell could be part of the Knights mass exodus with the two possibly rejoining Rick Stone at Huddersfield.

Why you would get rid of Tyler Randall is beyond me. Great example of a utility player. Can attack and defend.

Our two best trainers.
If for no other reason, we need to keep guys like these to show the way at training in the off season.

Unless we have another Hooker lined up letting Randell go seems a bit of an odd move. I have no issue with letting Mamo go, I don't think he is the answer at fullback and his not really been overly impressive on the wing. I would like to see Ross get a run at fullback and long term I am a big fan of Nick Meaney, he has very good positioning and great game awareness.

Seems crazy signing Farr when we can't even find a spot for Matt Cooper, who is the same age and started this year with a future origins camp and was in the NSW under 18s extended squad.
