Chanel mat - unlucky with injury... but!
Elliot - do i need to say?

Vailea - unlucky with injury
Freeman - as above
Paea - not good enough.
Stockwell - as above
Snowden - retire
Fitsgibbon - not good enough
J Smith -retire
B Smith - not good enough
Bhana - as above
Koopu - as above
Donovan - as above
Adams - as above.

Out of those I'd keep vailea, freeman, paea. Purely the fact 2 are on the up not down and paea could be a great forward leader as he was great when in his prime. Donovan needs to get some size about him and be more competitive as he doesn't back himself enough. I would like to see pat mat get a stint in the forwards aswell.

Can't argue.

I 100% think Vailea and Freeman should get a 2nd tier contractcand prove they have the hunger to go with the ability to gain that nrl contract.

Paea was great in his prime? Da hell?

Braidie Smith is a big kid who trains very hard.
He put on 14kg in the last off season and played great in the first few games of NSW cup, but then I think ll the hard work caught up with him and he has had to battle through every week.
In my opinion he will come back much better next year, after a rest, and a more sensible off season where he doesn't over train.

Freeman was our best player in NSW cup till he broke his arm. He took a long time to recover, but is now looking good again. Against him is his age - he is 25 I think.

Pearsall is worth another year. He is very tough, very tall for a half, and has some skills. I'm not sure what position he will fill, but worth another second tier contract as a reserve grade utlity at least. He is 21 and was playing NYC this time last year.

Koopu has been solid. At 21, he is worth another year.

Chanel shouldn't be cut unless his injuries are chronic.

Toohey said this morning that Randell has been told he can stay as a reserve grader or leave if he wants, and Adams has been told he won't be offered a spot. I think Randell is a great squad member and we should keep him.

You'd be brave to cut Fitzgibbon when Toohey said this morning that his uncle's company, NIB, is thinking of being our major sponser next season. He's got a reserve grade spot for life if he wants it IMO.

His dad is in charge of NIB, uncle is the former politician.
Other way around - except nothing former about his Dad, who won the seat of Hunter in a landslide last week - and his grandfather held it for years too.

Fair enough.
Even more reason to keep him.

Although when you think about it, maybe the fact that his father is willing to go to major sponser is a sign Fitz is leaving, and there's no longer any perception of conflict of interest to worry about. Fitz probably has a lot more in his life to work towards than being a reserve grade footy player.

I think he should move to prop his big enough

I'd keep Freeman, Yates and Chanel (handy winger when fit). Punt the rest.

Not sure what's happened to Yates but from the snippets I've seen of him, I still think he's got something to offer. He's short and nuggety with good leg drive for a smaller bloke and plays with a bit of aggression. He was great in 20s so I'd give him another year and persevere with him. I have more faith in him than Fitzgibbon.

We need 3-4 quality signings.

Lock A specialist Lock that can regulary make 100 metres or more. Something Smith has lacked to do.

Prop - Just don't think Mataoira or Sims can go to the next level. Consistant aggression is something we need!

As a rule, letting all those 21 year olds go is crazy talk.
We have been spoilt by seeing 19 year olds actually hold their own, but that isn't what has happened for the last 15 years or so.

Korbin Sims had your typical introduction to grade. NYC till 20. A year of reserve grade. In and out of firstgrade till about 23, and then a regular firstgrader.
Same with Rochow, Stockwell, Peter Mataútia, Uate etc etc etc.

Guys like Pearsall, Feeney, Fitzgibbon, etc are right on schedule, while guys like King, Saifitis, Cogger, Denniss etc are years ahead of where they would normally be.

Brown has probably made up his mind about several of the guys like Yates, Taylor etc., but he should give most 21 year olds another year if they have shown anything at all.

We need 6-7 good signings!

Billy i know u have been watching these kids for yrs and have a soft spot for them, but we have a nither group a yr away and a few of them will be needing a spot, there is also better 20yr olds running around then Pearsall Fitsgibbon Smith and the like.

At least Korbin dominated when he went back to Cup.

Guys like Fitzgibbon and Pearsall look like battlers even in that grade.

Pearsall took his side to a grandfinal in under 20s less than a year ago.
Fitzgibbon was one of our best in our minor premiership under 20s 2 years ago, and this time last year he was just about our best forward as we went on a winning streak that ended with us winning the reserve grade title.
All these young players at other sides you currently think are better - aren't. They will need a few years apprenticeship in the lower grades too.

Fitzgibbon has a premiership ring that says otherwise.
