I really like brown, straight shooter.

He doesn't seem real hot on gagai, he's off contact next year...

Apart from that they've told us what we already know. No signings until 2018 and going to be another tough year in 2017.

He's not off contract till end of next season.
No point talking about his contract until we sort out of Rochow and Tariq first.
I don't think signing the juniors up first would affect how much we pay Gagai unless Browny is going to pay massive overs for the juniors.
Who are these great juniors coming through anyway?

I like how Matt Gidley has replaced his brother and Chris Houston as the fans whipping boy. It's a pretty amazing insight considering no fan has any idea what he's actually doing behind closed doors.

Another club can sign gagai on 1 November 2016.
Unless he takes a 50% pay cut can't see brown being interested

Yeah and I doubt Gagai would look to sign anything until middle of next year anyway.
Is Brown expecting to get a first grade fullback/centre for less than $300k?

    He qualified that by saying;
Which is code for - we are trying to offload some guys.

No, if you read the very first question it asks "who are the targets for next season." He doesn't name a player. He answers with a generic response. Would be encouraging to rattle off a name or two who he thinks would be a good fit.

He'd be sacked tomorrow morning if he listed the guys we are in talks with - so all he can say is the type we want - or maybe he could give a wish list - Inglis, Slater, Smith, Hayne? Not sure what the point of that would be.

Would also get fans hopes up for no reason if he says the name of a superstar who we realistically have no chance of getting. And if he was realistic and mentions names of players we do have a chance to get (i.e. NSW Cup standard players) it's just going to make fans mad that we aren't signing superstars.

No matter what he says people are going to find a reason to complain, as evidenced on this site many times.

Someone has to want them though.
Snowden retirement and Aku to Japanese rugby are within the realms of possibility. Or Tariq and Rochow leaving.

The other interesting thing was Brown saying he only had 18 to pick from. Guess that means Pearsall isn't top 25 while Lamb and Cogger are. Probably in trouble with our second tier cap too.

He can't sign anyone without cap space.

Next year we'll be heaps better. Still crao but we'll win a few.

2018 is where its at and what where aiming for.

I've been pretty damn negative though supportive of Brown and truly reckon he'll get us there.

    He did not Billy.

Midley rephrased my question to suit himself and then did not answer it. And does he really believe that with our full roster we have been competitive? Last, one win, cricket scores and the spoon assured unless the NRL revisit the Eels with more coming out and cheating recording in the Club official Board minutes.

Fairly widely reportws that there were about $5.5 milliom worth of debts when the NRL took over and Tinkler's bank guarantee covered that. I'd like to know what happened to the other $4 million?

Or, does that article suggest the debts were actually $15m, so the NRL was left holding $5m after Tinkler's cash?

slots there were pretty consistent rumours Tinkerbell left us in the lurch for $14.5mill which would just about make your calculations correct. If so, $4.5mill plus the $1mill borrowed from the NRL would make us $5.5mill in the red. The problem is the figure Tinkerbell left us in the lurch for has been guarded like a KGB secret. And if as Midley claims every penny of our salary cap was spent, even paying for the guys like Roberts etc who moved to other Clubs, we are overpaying underperformers big time.
