I'd take either one. Levi needs an experienced head to make him fight harder for a first grade spot and we need the depth in our squad

Buhrer is much better suited to lock or second row in my opinion and I would rather him play 80 minutes on either of those positions

I'd be interested to see Yates have a go at dummy half.
You either have dummy half skills or you don't. Halves often have the vision to convert to hooker, but I can't think of a forward who has been much good off the top of my head. But I wouldn't write Yates off till he's spent a reasonable time learning, because he is a determined guy. If anyone can do it, he can. In defence he'd be perfect already.

What I like about Licha or Rein over Starling, Yates and Woolford ect is that they are used to the requirements of an NRL if not having done a great job previously.

There's a guy called Jamie Burher not sure if u know of him? He made the job of hooker seem doable from the backrow..

Do we consider Phythian when healthy a possible 9? I believe he made his first-grade debut there?

Consider him but he will need time to get back on paddock and regain confidence, still think it best to sign someone, believe Randall is off to ESL

I would prefer Lichaa over Rein he would be cheaper, his younger and I think Brown maybe able to breath life back into his running game considering Brown seems to have helped Levi improve his. Lichaa and a prop would complete a pretty good recruitment drive by the club with the possibility of Maloney being just icing on the cake who could genuinely put the top 8 in reach.

Ideally neither would see the field in first grade barring injuries.

A hooker, prop and a gun, goalkicking half and only top 8

thing is Levi goes down all of a sudden we are relying on Buhrer to cover hooker. Would we be comfortable to rely on him for a few matches? Not sure id be confident in relying on someone who is making his debut either. So id be happy to bring in experienced cover tbh!

We need to sign another hooker, Rein and Lichaa fit the bill, don't have to be world beaters and surely will improve over all when coach is a ex hooker.

They are all footballers. I'm sure it can't be too hard for them to pass a ball from the ground.

absolutely we need another hooker. I'd be happy with either for the right money, and will trust Brown and Mooney to not pay overs. From what I remember of Lichaa at Cronulla, he used to run a lot more than he does now, so maybe Des's structure has just killed him.

Rein has looked better at Penrith than he did during the end of his Dragons stint, but you'd think Lichaa would be cheaper.

You'd think so, but doesn't seem to work that way.

    I'd go with Rein personally.

But we do need another hooker, if only for depth, and competition for spots.

There will be heaps of depth with those that have had a premature taste of NRL and will now be in the wings again to learn their trade with out the pressure that goes with FG .

My concern is if we keep buying players for the sake of it , when the crucial one comes along the coffers will be bare - what good will that do anyone ??

Reassess our needs and utilise the local/ junior talent already earmarked.

Toohey reckons we'll target 2/3 more props, a backrower & an outside back after Ese'ese, so that tells me we have plenty. Brown & Mooney haven't saved up all this money to be idiots about it, they're gonna use it to the best of their ability.
