early thoughts on this one everyone?
I know I’m probably being negative myself but I think we are in for a long night unfortunately. Looking at how taupau ran over us last night gives me an insight into what the burgess boys could do if they keep up their solid 2018 form. On the back of those two they’ve got an in form Sutton and a good right edge backrower in Crichton. Not to mention probably the best running 9 in the game in cook and another danger out left in Cody walker.

As proud as I am of our resiliency over the opening 8 weeks I think we could get a wake up call on Friday. Our lack of size and go forward other then eseese, SKD and griffin will be a real problem. I can’t justify selecting burher and Yates on the same bench this week and it’s fair to say dan and Jacob have been a little slobbish lately (hopefully they take the challenge of playing the burgess boys and step up with some aggression and speed)

I know it comes across negative after the way we’ve been fighting to stick in games this season which is a huge credit to browny and the leaders of the side. But our lack of experience and size will be heavily outmatched against a decently inform Souths side who will be out for revenge after a tough loss to Brisbane.

36-12 Souths would love for you guys/girls to tell
    Me I’m wrong.

Great run of home games now. If we want to finish top 8 then we need to win majority of these hopefully starting with rabbitohs

Souths could not put together an 80 minute performance against the Donkeys and were quite disappointing.

We are playing at home and our new halves and Ponga will have another week at training to get used to playing with each other.

I think it will be close but we should win.

    Spot on Lefty.

It is apparent the coaching staff are moving Ponga into a 5/8 role and kicking until we get Junior back. We will roll 'em!

Souths attack could cause us some issues if they click. In saying that our defence has improved.

Does anybody know when our byes are? Hopefully before Pearce is back.

That Gagai fella will probably have his best game of the year, and he can be very good if he feels like it on the day.

Back at home next week, the team lifts and plays at another level at home generally. I think we can ambush them.

Lol @ the fear of gagai, there was fear of uate for last game and he didn't do anything. Gags is even less likely to be a game breaker than Uate. If Gags has a good game, it will only be due to our own poor defence.

I'm still waiting for the Safs to actually show some glimpse of wanting to damage the opposition. If they were firing each week, charging in to the line and driving out the metres it would really help. Perhaps they are just too big, need to slim down some and become more mobile!

Pretty confident here. No Sam Burgess and surely George was cited and should be suspended for his high tackle on Thursday night?

Hey Billy: are there any centres in reserve grade that you think would be able to defend better than Sione. How is Cory Denniss going?

Last time I saw Cory play he had a shocker, but so did everyone else in a 58-4 loss.
Pat Mat has gone back to the centres in reserve grade because they have no one else. That's how short we are.

Sione is enthusiastic, makes lots of tackles but we keep picking on the missed ones, be happy we have him at the moment cause next best is very poor.

Thats it, Sione definately hasnt lived up to his hype but he is still a decent player IMO.
