I look at that Panthers pack and just hope we don't cop another 3 injuries.

Would like that but probably means leaving out Hetherington or Barnett.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Jones come in for Buhrer/Heighno/Barnett at all. If we’re not handing out jerseys to the people that don’t deserve it, we may as well hand them to the people that do.

I know that we have to respect players but Heighinton and Lillyman should only be picked if best option, Lillyman out this week and contributed little on field, maybe lots of field, Heighinton has on field and I assume off field but they are gone so let's pick best side. Barnett and Heighinton haven't set the world on fire, nor has Buhrer, as far as I am concerned we are carrying them a bit, time to replace with future players. Because of injuries and poor form let's go with Jones for Barnett, Barnett to bench in place of Heighinton and consider Yates for Buhrer.

In all honesty, we are carrying a bit. Individually, Lillyman, Heighington, Buhrer & King can play a role, but as a collective they are a terrible bench & we'll probably look back at it in the future & laugh how bad it was. To think in the pre-season there were debates about whether Ese'ese was one of our starters or whether he was bench at best. JJ hasn't done anything that stands out yet either, though in fairness he needs more game time to prove himself. Not a lot to lose by trying some different options but too late to make a difference.

It makes sense that they waited to do this till Ponga was back training. You couldn't drop him in without even a training run.
It also explains some of the crazy selections in reserve grade, with Matt Cooper on the bench for no apparent reason.

Brown saying he is also looking at 1 or 2 players who went well in reserve grade and wants to give them a run if he can.
I think he might consider using Yates as a hooker on the bench to replace Buhrer and might squeeze Brodie Jones in if he can.

Really keen to see what Ponga can do at pivot. Glad to see Meaney get another run too.

Looking forward to Saturday a lot more now.

If Ponga's ankle is so bad they want to reduce how much he has to run on it by moving him to 5/8, why is he playing at all.

That would be the sensible thing to do but Brown might be getting desperate to win a game. That's just where we are at the minute.

I’d say Ponga’s pretty desperate to win the Dally M.

From what I've heard hasn't he stunk up NSW cup? I'd say Lamb his best not to give Lamb a go.

He is going great in reserve grade. He has them winning against top sides and competing every game.

I’ve seen him 5 or 6 times in Reggies this year and he’s been excellent every time.
