I think we played great.
Agree to disagree on the other parts though
Not sure why you are coming at me lately, but if anything I lean towards the being too enthusiastic about our chances.
Not coming at you mate
Cool but if I am peanut, you have to be Cashew.
Im more of a walnut tbh... bit think
The game was good to watch, early try against us thought we were in for it, team held it together but always thought roosters were cruising thinking they had it in the bag but Knights kept coming and that try to put us within two gave them a scare over the last five or so, very happy with the effort.
Thought after 10 mins we were goneski's.
The roosters may not have played to 100% of their ability, but then again not many teams ever do. They were certainly playing well though, attacking our line with all sorts of decoy play, runners on the move all over the place and in weeks gone past we would have let them in practically every time they were down our end with that attack. This game though, we got our act together in defence. Turned up for each other and showed some commitment to keeping them out. And it gave us a chance to steal the game.
No doubt the Roosters were the better team, but only in a few areas pf polish, namely the halves. We were equally as good in other areas.
Jamie bruhrer played for 2 and half minutes on his cooked knee! That’s rediculous
We came up short with Buhrers injury and Lillymans lack of playing time. We are short this week in props, start Lillyman and Heighinton and replace when they are done with Esee and King and get what we can out of Lillyman and Heighinton in second half or find another prop.
That'd be great if the goal was to get rolled in the first 30 & lose the game before half time. Ese is our only serious go forward at the moment.
Joshhh I agree with Frank if you use your “ let’s say draughthorses” early during the softening up period , the task is easy roll it up the middle , stop them going forward and you can also assess when they are spent and make calculated interchanges.
Why use your “elite cavalry “ as canon fonder, Lillyman and Hiegno are pretty experienced campaigners and I am sure they can hold up the middle during the early charges at least till the sting is gone, then Esse can be used to full potential with out the burden of carrying the brunt of the work load.
The other consideration starting Lillyman and Heighinton is they would be on the field with the bigger, stronger back row of Fitz, Barnett and Guerra before any changes such as Griff moving to lock when Levi comes on
I was once with a young lady who said my old fella reminded her of a cashew!
I said because it's small?
And she said no.........
I'm scarred from last week, all game we were stuck down our end because we just couldn't make any ground with our fowards, Ese'ese was the only one who made a dent & could actually get us moving. With Saifiti gone too, we have no go forward left after Ese so sitting him on the bench seems wrong to me.
Only last week?
It would be hard to say we have won the middle 15 times in the past 4yrs.
I get what they are saying about using the old wood ducks though with momentum being so critical in the game it really isnt the best idea imo.
Esee has been great but he only has so many minutes in him and with only Lillyman, Heighinton and King to go with it will take some juggling, one of those four will have to play a good strong 50-60min and likely use Barnett to make up shortfall when Griffin is relieved by Levi
Doesn't matter where you play them as long as they don't score.
The only times in that game we really made any ground on them was when we spread the ball wide and got their D on the back foot. Otherwise we were going set for set with them, and losing ground each set.
With Greenberg now telling refs to find a balance with penalties, we might see more flowing games which is going to expose our lack of forward power even more. With fewer penalties we will be going set for set for longer, and we tend to lose that battle, much like forcem backs game, we will end up back on our own line a few sets in and under enormous pressure again and again.
