As long as there is no confirmation, I naturally suspect Benny and his usual scumbag tricks until the very end.

Has Ese'ese been confirmed that would mean we have all being touted as signed with others being chased

Nothing. It is one of those I will believe when and if it happens. With Bennett who would know what he is likely to spring.

I think esse is the signing we need most great to get the others but they can't do much if the forwards are not going forward.

Is my concern too, all the signings we have now are great but still lack good line busting props, Ese' plus 1 or 2

    Knights sign Herman Ese'ese

    Thu 27th July, 10:00AM

The nib Newcastle Knights are pleased to confirm forward Herman Ese'ese has signed a three-year contract, commencing in 2018.

The 22-year-old made his NRL debut at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2015 before joining the Brisbane Broncos in 2016. He has currently played 23 NRL matches.

“It is exciting to be able to announce Herman’s signing and we look forward to welcoming him to the Club next season,” CEO Matt Gidley said.

“Herman is a young, explosive forward with a lot of great football ahead of him.

“He not only fits into our long-term plans but importantly, he is coming to the Club because he wants to be part of our future success.”

Ese’ese will join Kalyn Ponga, Tautau Moga, Connor Watson and Aidan Guerra at the Club in 2018, as well as Shaun Kenny-Dowall who arrived at the Club mid-season.

“After a number of signing announcements for the Club, we are confident in the playing roster we are building for next season and beyond,” Gidley concluded.

LOL indeed. Coming here for a payday.

Nothing wrong with that at all if he is motivated to keep putting in and improving.

Our roster is really starting to look dangerous for next year. Loving it.

It's a lot better not having to see a third of the team NSW Cup standard, but have a look at the Cows, Storm and Roosters if you want to see dangerous.

Squeaking into the eight will be a huge achievement with the inexperienced spine we'll be sending out.

The Cows are just ridiculous. Every one of their spine players is an upgrade on ours, plus they have Scott, McLean, Bolton, Cooper, Lowe, Taumalolo and Hess in the pack.

To be fair thou the Cowboys spent about 5 years or more building that side up we on the other hand have spent the last two years just cleaning out the dead wood and blooding some young guys and are only just at the point of bringing some players in to rebuild the side. I think Brown and Mooney are doing a good job of setting the side up long term and believe we won't be running last next year and if we add another prop or two can be a fringe top 8 side. The age of our spine while making success harder to achieve does not make it impossible look at the Panthers the last few years using guys like Cleary, Edwards, Cartwright even Moylan is still pretty young and made the top 4 last year and are still a decent chance of making the 8 this year.
