From what I have read and heard, Wallace was never leaving the coast. Just used us to force the price up.

Ill give brown and mooney some credit that they haven't gone crazy giving out long term deals to anyone. Only guys ATM who are on 4-5 year deals are Ponga and Pearce and they are our best players and spine players so that's hardly surprising.
I'm fine if they miss out on players because they want 4+ years. It's why the dogs are screwed now and mooney rebuilt the sharks offering short term deals to discards like Lewis and Ben barba.

Corey Norman is being shopped around.
Brown has said in pressers earlier in the that he loves the way he plays. not sure where he would play.
    What do you guys think?

Norman is a great player, infact on he's day id rate him as a top 3 running half in the game.
To bad the guy is a utter fwit that loves the wrong side of town cause he could be a brilliant player.

Norman got fined 20k earlier this week for drinking while injured, a saint compared to some players but there are some concerns there. Not sure where he fits though

Norman has issues off field and can’t be trusted. On the field he’s talented but inconsistent. If he were to come here, I’d easily have him five-eighth with Pearce halfback. Would be a nice pairing. Watson #14.

If Brown has lost confidence in Lamb and with the loss of Cogger, we could certainly do worse than a Pearce/Norman halves pairing.

Like it or not, Watson is another player (just like K. Gidley) whose versatility bites him in the ***. His best value comes from fullback or coming off the bench.

His strengths are running the ball, he's definitely not displaying the skillset a half needs (strong kicking game, smart pass selection and looking a couple of plays ahead).

Norman is an intriguing option. Away from Sydney and with the right clauses in place it could be a shrewd signing. It's a tentative "yes" for me.

Norman is a great player at his best, but just can't be trusted. Seems like he'd be a great bloke to hang out with off the field, but as a professional football player in a team environment influencing other players, no way.

Speaking of off contract players imagine of we ended up getting Foran this year. Has stunk it up at his third club and constantly looks like he's got a new injury every week. Medical retirement to help the bulldogs perhaps too

Corey Norman is a cancer in a team environment and the Eels have finally had enough, I’d be fairly confident in saying he’ll never be part of a premiership winning side because he can’t behave himself long enough to last a season.

    No thanks for me

I thinking this the other day, people say we dodged a bullet missing Jack Bird ( which I disagree with ) but I think the bigger bullet would have been paying 1Million for Foran.

Overrated back in his Manly days IMO and now he looks barely first grade standard

Bird is a difficult one because he has a shorter resume that looks good on the back of winning a premiership with the sharks and from that playing origin.
Playing for a new team with no halves direction or forward pack doesn't help either.

But as mentioned Foran just has not looked good for any stretch of period since he left Manly and in fact it's damning that teams have looked better without him. Poor dogs got rid of Des a year too late
