Would take Jennings in a heartbeat, but if his option is worth $700K+, I’m not willing to offer more than that to pursued him.

Not sure how Josh Morris’ name came up in this thread, but I’d take him too. He’s great defensively, a strong runner of the ball and very trustworthy.

Its all about Market value peoples, how many decent centre's are available and how many clubs want them?

I always enjoy how people still haven't realised the cap is going to be over 10 million + a squillion allowances and 3rd parties, people act as if 1999 and the cap is still 2.5 million. $400k doesn't get you much of a player these days.

Did they think he'd pull the pin on his political career before it got off the ground ?

I'd say $200k would mate, considering his not good at any position at the moment.

Not sure if this was directed at me stating I wouldn’t throw $700K+ at him to pursued him to jump ship. If we did, I wouldn’t complain because we’d be getting a good player at a position of need, but my first thought is “that’s paying overs”.

I like Jennings, have always been a fan, but how much better is he than, say, Josh Morris? I don’t think the gap is that large there, and there’s no way Josh Morris would be commanding $700K+. More likely in the ballpark of $500K I’d think.

I mean, if $600K gets you Latrell Mitchell, how does approx $750K get you Jennings? Just doesn’t add up. That’s not good bang for your buck.

That's a roosters "$600k" though, and re-signing at your current club is often at a discount.

We wouldn't sign Mitchell for $600k, not that he would talk to us anyway.

Imagine a Roosters $800K then. That’s what Cordner re-signed for and I think that’s overs for him.

I think if we could get Jennings and his 2 brothers that would fix our backline and make some on here very happy. Assume Micheal plays firsts with Moga (if fit and able) as other centre or Ramien or Sione if re-signed then brothers could play reserves and backup for firsts fighting for starting positions with SKD, Ross and Sione if re-signed, strong backline and to fit them in we let 3-4 go from reserves current back 5 or Ross who is interested in going to Tigers

Surely we are past the days of signing a mob to get one brother

They have said they all want to play for one club, all three are capable of playing 1sts and are every bit as good or better than what we have in reserves. Not saying sign them as a group but individually, pay going rate, 1-2 year contracts. If not all three we miss out on Michael, next option Morris boys.

Agree with the first part, but it's a pass on both Morris brothers at this late stage in their careers

Jennings has a 2 year/700k extension clause that he has to activate by June 30th or else he will be a free agent at the end of the season. If he's willing to take a paycut to 400-500k with a 1+ 1option type of deal id consider it.

Whoever came up with the above must have been working for Des or something!

He got that deal as a current nsw and Aus rep centre, worth ever cent of it to.

Would you move your family away from where they have lived forever for 1yr+1yr option for a 30% pay cut?

One of the main reasons for the Eels form slump. He was atrocious against us.

Now they have the belly landed Playne back, I wonder how long before the unseating of Brad Arthur will take? Greatest coach killer in the NRL and gets inside his team mates' heads.
