I'm hearing SSP.
Could we take him back in 2019 providing everything is ok, clean, he is still young.
Theoretically yes, but he'd still have a 12 game suspension. Highly doubt they'd take the risk on a repeat offender who's struggled to even string together games in reserve grade over his stint at the Knights.
Why can't his 12 game suspension be this season? Start fresh next year, attending rehab or whatever to be right to play and clean.
Because they sacked him. The suspension only counts when you're signed to a team.
Doesn't matter, they don't want him anymore regardless & sacked him. I'd assume this would be coming from the highest level up in the club, Gardner was in the news recently saying how they wouldn't tolerate any crap from the players & basically won't hesitate to get rid of them if they do play up. Phyth is probably the first victim of Wests' strict regime.
Knights boss Phil Gardner's message loud and clear after Phythian sacking
I like it, set the standard, everyone knows the rules and consequences, everyone falls in line. DO the right thing and you'll be fine. Simple to follow.
Seems like Browny want to look after him get him a gig with other club
Good on Brown for doing that, he's obviously been a big fan of Phythian from the moment he gave him his debut out of nowhere. Phythian is seriously dumb for risking it after already 1 strike, he would be rightfully devastated by this, his NRL dream has been taken away from him, after already so much adversity. As long as he gets serious from this point on, it would be good to see Brown & Mooney vouch for him to another club to take him on in the future so his career & talent doesn't go down the toilet.
They can't vouch for him. He was dumb once and dumber twice.
It's over. Pretty simple. Short of tearing it up in ISP or NSW cup for a couple of years somewhere after his suspension, no one will touch him.
Sacked Newcastle Knights utility Dylan Phythian set for return with local club Lakes after drugs suspension
Lets hope his learnt his lesson and has a decent run with injury.
Books closed for him with us though.
No it's not!
Brown wouldn't say there is a chance for him to come back down the track without having talked to Gardiner about it first ...
He's been getting around to junior training sessions in the Lakes United area running the kids through drills. Looks pretty fit but hey John Daley looks fit to me.
chuckle chuckle was that John Daley looks fit to you or looks fit compared to you?
