Gagan sounds like a second tier signing.
I can't find what his injuries have been, but if he is over them he could be a good pick up.
5 tries in 7 games of firstgrade and a former Australian schoolboy says he has potential at least.

Yeah Gagan goes ok. Better than Elliot anyway.
I just wish the Fensom rumour would die, I'd rather have Jez run around another year than waste money on Fensom.

I rate fensom and think he would be an awesome signing. Very hard working player who doesnt mind making 50+ tackles a game! Exactly what we need imo

Thought Gagan looked like a pretty safe player, similar to McManus from the games I saw. Definitely would be a second tier contract though you'd imagine. I'd say he and Elliot will be on each other's heels during the pre-season.

As for the Fensom rumour, no thanks. He tackles his heart out yes, but apart from that the bloke does bugger all in attack. Probably why he's stuck in reserves at the moment.

It's a big backline for reserve grade.

    Phythian
    Chanel
    Tom Hughes
    Cory Denniss
    Gagan

Chanel would be the shortist, and all are around 100kg.

Big halves in Feeney and Pearsall too.

Would have Gagan ahead of Elliot for a wing spot.

He’s the towering Jet who’s been patiently waiting in the wings this season, but Jacob Gagan has done more than enough to cement himself as one of the competition’s premium outside backs.

Gagan burst onto the scene for the Cronulla Sharks in 2014; after signing from the Sea Eagles, he got his chance in the NRL thanks to a significant injury toll. Scoring five tries in his seven consecutive matches, Gagan immediately looked like nailing down an NRL spot and was offered a two-year contract extension at Cronulla. A ruptured achilles tendon early in the following year, however, would see him sidelined for the majority of the 2015 season, and Gagan would not return to the field until Round 1 this year.

Playing 22 of the Jets’ 24 games so far this season, Gagan has been a consistent performer on the flanks, scoring 14 tries and providing solid competition for a star-studded Sharks backline. Three consecutive doubles in Rounds 4, 5 and 6, in particular, showed no signs that Gagan had struggled to return from injury.

While the Jets were outclassed by the might of Mounties last weekend, they remain in the competition with a do-or-die match against the Warriors on Sunday. With an all-round team performance from Newtown, it won’t be the last time we see the 23-year-old in 2016.

This was a write up on the NSWRL site.

I agree Billy and Defender. Far greater value than Pete, Pat and Chantel all together. Fensom is a great forward who has had a run of outs with Ricky.

Te fact mozza and/or slots don't like 'em gives them my seal of approval lol!

Chanel is a bit of the forgotten man.
He was as impressive as Sione on the wings.
Not going to write him off.

Why do we need him to have impact? We have Buhrer, Sione, Barnett for that. Someone to settle things down a bit defence wise would be great imo.

Makes too many mistakes and would cost a fair bit of coin.

Barry Toohey has said on Twitter that we still aren't interested in Fensom at the moment.

All depends on the price with Fensom , good defensive player but don't want to pay overs 300k or below is all I'd pay , unfortunatly is very dull in attack , will do the hard yards all day though

You don't win premierships with defenders who make big numbers of soft tackles.
The top sides in the big games have 17 players who try to hurt someone in every tackle.
It might have been handy to have someone like Fensom in 2016, and probably in 2017 too, but he doesn't belong in a top 4 side, so he isn't the type we want for 2018.
