Though having said that, Ponga will definitely be in the squad from the beginning for game 2, and if Slater can't play, will see his debut, if he already won't from the bench in G1 or 2.

Morgan looked ok at fullback, but he isn't the gamebreaker that Ponga is in that position. They lacked any sense of creativity, where is their spark without Thurston, Smith and Slater :giggle:

I can understand the reasons for not putting Ponga in, particularly lack of preparation, but seeing what Milford dished up in the limited time he had makes me feel like Morgan will stay in the 14 jumper and Milford will drop out.

If he's fit Slater will get his spot back, Morgan to the bench and Ponga will cool his heels as 18th man. If the series is lost, Kevvie will definitely give Ponga a run off the bench even if Slater is still fit.

For mine I thought Morgan was below standard.

Michael Morgan off injured. Ponga looks more likely to play game 2.

As far as I am concerned I am happy with any QLD player being below standard

Joey just told a good joke on the game wrap up.
He said he was in Newcastle and everyone was asking him about Ponga, and he said "let's see if he gets a grandstand named after him".
    (it was a joke people).

He’s gonna be at rebel at Glendale from 1:30 to 3:30pm tomorrow arvo. Might go and try and persuade him into a committed relationship.

If he's coming off the bench, late into a half, NSW might already be on top so it could be hard for him to do anything. If Slater is out & Ponga starts though, he will really get a chance to settle into the game & might just be a big problem for NSW. Ponga has risen & surpassed every challenge so far though, so it's possible he can make an impact from the bench.

He keeps suprising me ponga, 29 tackles playing in the middle in origin and still looked dynamic in attack nearly won the game for QLD.

We need 17 pongas and we win the next 10 premierships with our eyes closed.

People had a point when they said he might not be ready to defend in the line - but the answer to that question is that he can not only defend in the line, he can do it in the middle at SOO level.

After seeing him in the middle making tackle after tackle, I thought to myself he's going to be gassed after 10 mins. Yet he makes 30 tackles and makes that break to nearly win them the game. Pure class
