On a Twitter account that Tapine is being linked with Canberra via Leilua.
Hope not, but don't want the Knights to pay overs to keep him either. (Like we did the Mata'utia's and Uate)...
If his in with that turd happy for him to go.
I didn't mean the strongest team that we can field in each position, more so with all out best players out in the starting 17.
I'm going to make a few changes but, Rochow to start, we're missing so much by not having him out there getting as much minutes as he can. Tariq to lock, Rochow to 2nd row, Stockwell replaces Mataora as bench prop and Smith comes in for bench 2ndrow/lock. Starting Smith was the big problem for me getting big minutes, but having him come off the bench with some added aggression for 20-30 minutes would be perfect the more I think about it.
I'm not sure if it was because the club is getting smarter, or there was literally no money left in the kitty, but in previous years Holland would have got a fat contract. Happy to see him walk to the Dogs.
I'm getting the vibe that it's the former with Brown at the helm and Hagan shown the door.
I think Brown has a bit to do with it, but I think it's more that they've realised there's been mistakes made in the past. They thought they had to keep our locals at all costs...
Brown definitely hasn't got the squad he wants. Will be 2017 before he can start to shape the squad he wants / needs.
If Tapine goes to Canberra he will be following Vaivai, who was/is a bit of a leader amongst the Kiwi boys.
I suspect he will be like a lot of the Kiwis who leave us when they seem on the verge of a good career - never heard of again.
Here is the instagram comment that the tweet is about:
I took a look at the Canberra forum to see what they're saying about it, at first glance it looks like he's saying there's a new Joe at the Raiders, but they reckon he means there's a new Joe at the Knights with Leilua leaving & Tapine coming up. Which I think kind of makes more sense so I agree with them.
Yeah I'm pretty sure people are reading too much into this
Lol, definitely reading too much into that. There's nothing in that suggesting Tapine is going to Canberra so I don't know how people just randomly came out with that one. Even Tapine himself has said that he's looking towards building something here at the club.
Canberra have a pretty stacked second row too especially with the addition of Elliot whitehead and there all guys who play big minutes too. They also have that gun second rower in the 20s who looks like he will be a very good play perhaps even this year.
Mole tweeted Canberra have signed Tapine.
Can you post a copy of it? I can't find his tweet?
That'd be pretty devastating. We have an exciting second-rower coming through looking at finally breaking through into the top team regularly this year & he's gone to Canberra instead.
The bench looks a whole lot weaker too when you see Fitzgibbon is the next in line for a backrow spot. Hopefully Jacob Saifiti gets a run.
Went through his tweets and nothing
He is signed to the Knights for 2016, so only way that could happen is if Brown releases him - which would come out of the blue.
Why would the Knights release him. Doesn't make sense after they released Houston etc, and saying Tapine is now ahead of him in the pecking order...
I'll be gutted if true.
My mistake I didn't read it properly.
@RLW_Mole joey Leilua hinting Canberra signed joe Tapine!?
It was actually a tweet from"Nick"
