Would be better than any centre we got running around at the moment. Strong behaviour clause required.

    Super defender and runs hard.
I think he would make a perfect centre.

Always thought he was a good player, 88's video shows him even better, scored tries, set them up, clever kicks and some great tackles, especially one on one. Show me a video of any centre we have had that looks that good for say the last few years.
Worth good money to sign him even if for 2019 onwards. Would be an asset,McEnroe covering f/back.

I think Wighton is a future SOO player.
I don't think we'll get him because he'll have plenty of offers and will want to play fullback, but he is the quality of young player we should be going all out to sign.

Wighton and Ramien in the centres next year, I'd take that.

That plus 2 strike forwards of rep quality and we will be challenging for the comp

At the moment the ball dies out wide unless Pongas got it. Imagine Ramien or Wighton outside Ponga. Big big difference

In Tooheys column this morning it says that wightons management made an approach to Newcastle to see if they were interested in signing him

Imo wighton’s Best position is left centre as it compliments his left foot step and right arm palm.

Never thought he was a fullback or a 5/8

I’d be happy to have him as long as the price is right

Yeah they would be solid, every time I watch Ramien I can’t believe how lucky we were to get him

Jack Wighton will be the best centre we've had since Matt Gidley imo. The Mad dog was no slouch either, esspecially in his later years. The timing of such a class signing could not be better for us as 2019-2020 is our premiership window.

If Ramien continues to improve we will have one of the best centre parings in the comp

The only concern within our backline will be wingers. SKD will be 32-33, too old to be effective on the wing imo. And Ross will be a similar age. So we need to be actively looking for wingers as much as any other players imo

NRL and Canberra Raiders ready to take hard line as Jack Wighton faces nine criminal charges

    DAVID RICCIO, The Sunday Telegraph

THE NRL and Canberra are facing yet another diffuclt decision based on ethical standards with Raiders star Jack Wighton facing nine seperate criminal charges related to his alleged involvement in a bloodied fight in the ACT.

With the likelihood of his career at risk, Wighton spent last Friday in urgent meetings with his legal team after receiving notice to attend the ACT Magistrates court at 9am on Wednesday.

The charges - while unable to be revealed by The Sunday Telegraph - are believed to be varying in seriousness.

The charges against Wighton also involve more than three individuals.

As first reported by The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday, Wighton, 25, is alleged to have been involved in an incident outside a Canberra nightclub five weeks before the start of the NRL season.

The Raiders contacted NRL Intergity Unit boss Karyn Murphy immediately upon learning of Wighton’s alleged involvement in February.

Murphy has remained in regular contact while the police report of the incident has been sighted by Wighton and his solicitor.

ACT Police have obtained CCTV footage of the brawl.

Having joined the Raiders as a teenager, Wighton has long been regarded as future star by the club - evident in his current contract which was recently extended until 2020.

However, the NRL and Canberra will be forced into deciding whether to tear up that same contract should he be found guilty.

Under mass pressure in the wake of rubber-stamping controversial Brisbane prop Matt Lodge’s return to the game, the NRL are also on the verge of offering another lifeline to Todd Carney.

The Raiders have time and again taken a hard-line stance against players who bring the game into disrepute, highlighted by the departures of Blake Ferguson, Joel Monaghan, Josh Dugan and Carney.

The club will have no hesitation severing ties with Wighton, should he be found guilty.

However, the Raiders would undoubtedly demand support from the NRL - something they have claimed in the past didn’t happen - in ensuring a rival club doesn’t benefit should they be forced to let Wighton go.

Wighton, who became a father for the second time on Thursday, was a late withdrawal from the Raiders’ first win of the season against Canterbury on Thursday night.

Wednesday will prove crucial in determining whether he has played his last in the lime green jersey.
