Israel Folau

Some strong mail that Folau will be sacked from Rugby and likely field offers from NRL teams. Most unlikely to happen (because it seems like a Sydney team is the target) and it’s a pass from me anyway but thought id throw it out there and see what others thought.

 

One of the best backs to ever lace on boots i would take him , Ramien 1 centre with Moga or whoever outside him and Folau the other with Skd outside him that would do me ....

 

Definitely, if the price was right.

 

Folau won't be cheap and assume we would have to pay a bit more than Sydney teams to relocate him that is if we want him, if he switches to NRL.

 

Wouldn’t bother wasting the time and money on him. He won’t solve the centre defensive issues. Without hardly making a tackle in years combined with all the decision making in centre he will be comically bad for whoever signs him in my opinion.

I guarantee a better outside back won't come up before June 30. Maybe we give him a trial of sorts with options for 2019/20?

 

A million a season trial. How’d Hayne workout?

 

Hayne is fat. We're million+ underspent this year anyway.

 

It’s not like he’s been sitting on his *** for 10 years. He’s been playing at the highest level in a sport with the same basic principles as League, and he’s consistently been great at it. He likely would be rusty at first in defence, especially if he’s playing centre rather than fullback, but I think he’d easily make up for it in attack. IMO our #1 recruitment priority should be getting a couple of high-level props, but if we could fit Folau in too I think you’d be crazy not to consider it.

Realistically though, I think if he comes back to the NRL it’ll be for the Titans, Warriors or a Sydney team.

 

So just throw it at anyone that wants it?

I don’t think we need Foloau type players. We need a Chambers, Morris, Reed. Defensively sorted.

 

Hasn’t been a good time to be a centre/outside back and wanting a big payday so far. Israel would probably be better this year for us rather then last running off of passes from Ponga and Pearce.

Think there is better value players out there personally.

 

I think he's over rated but I'd still go for him.

Have you actually watched the Wobblies over the past five years. Israel is the best they have but they do not compete at NRL reggies level.
