Official: Cory Denniss re-signs with the Knights

Cory Denniss re-signs

[FONT=&amp]The nib Newcastle Knights is pleased to announce that local junior Cory Denniss has re-signed with the Club until the end of the 2018 season.
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]Still only 19-years-old, Denniss made his NRL debut in Round 3 of the 2016 season and went on to score three tries in seven appearances.
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]Able to play on the wing or in the centres, Denniss also made 11 appearances for the NYC Knights in 2016, scoring two tries and making seven try-assists.
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]“He’s another player that we are very pleased to have re-signed,” coach Nathan Brown said of Denniss.
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]“Cory is still very young, but he showed in his NRL appearances last season that he has the potential to become a consistent first grader.”
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]Denniss has embarked on his first NRL pre-season this month, and says he’s looking forward to further developing his game.
[/FONT]

[FONT=&amp]“I’m very happy to have re-signed and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Club moving forward,” he said.

The last 18 year old 6'5" 100kg winger from Belmont way we signed grew up to be Chief.
This kid is already strong enough to give most firstgraders plenty to worry about, and he has a lot of growing to do yet.
His try assists in NYC come because he is strong enough to run at full pace and hold off a few tacklers with one hand and pass the ball to support players.
He was the worst and least experienced footballer we used last year, and made heaps of rookie errors, but he also showed he is going to be a handful when he grows up and learns how to play footie.
Him and Phythian are the only two guys we used last season that didn't train with the senior squad, so both will improve in leaps and bounds this off season.
