How odd. That's a shame. Gives the Knights a bit of extra spending money though. What to do with it?
That is odd. He must have something in the mix to knock back that offer. Panthers for 200k a season maybe
I think he'll get more than $150k a year on the open market...
Everyone should be happy this year's Ciraldo is leaving..
Hello Jeremy Smith.
Smith, Gagai, Cordner, Poore and Scott for Edwards, Wes, Faaso, Taia and Tui and re-sign Bedsy, Kev, Houston, Roberts, Rochow and Mason = outstanding!
He must know if we get smith he'll be playing park football next year, he's behind most of our guys and Bennett hinted he's a slow improver, good as a backup but not worth big dollars imo
And if he dosnt want to committ to us it's a good time to get Hilder or KOD back into the side, we don't need destractions this time of year.
Not sure what he's up to here ... I sure hope he's got another offer!
If J Smith comes Edwards would be playing NSW Cup next year, and good clubs don't pay 200k a year for reserve graders.
This is biazrre but i think its best for the knights as he has been a mixed bag this year, i wonder where he will end up?
Shame, he has been in pretty good form since we started winning, would of been a fight between him and McKinnon for the bench spot.
Don't need him to be honest and good that we can free up some cap, I mean he hasn't really lived up to all the hype and the offer we gave him was generous.
Also do we really want someone at the club that only wants to stay for the money?? Seeya Joel, good luck getting a bigger offer.
He's been going pretty good lately but honestly he isn't and never has been anything special. He should have no trouble getting another gig but whether or not it's for what he and his manager thinks he's worth is another matter.
Not really a loss, I hope he lives up to his potential, but if its just the $ then thats strange has to be other factors... he has now turned down two contracts from the knights...
Three! The original three year deal, then the one year deal, now the two year deal.
I can't see him getting a better offer elsewhere, if at all. This has the potential to go very Adam Muir-esque (ie. pear-shaped). If the Raiders aren't interested anymore as we read a while ago, then who will be?
Anyway, with all the deals he's turned down, it's obviously all about the money, so good luck to him, I hope he makes a motza.
Maybe he's just waiting for the right suitcase to be opened.
Horrible news. I understand he probably turned down the first offer for more money, but surely he's found out he will be playing NSW Cup next year. Dont want to see him in another NRL jersey, he could get a heap in the SL. I can't actually believe this, I hope he atleast gets a try for us before he goes.
It will be sad to see him go, but he really isn't worth more than 150k a year.
He's probably a bit above the average fringe first grader. Definitely not someone you would throw much cash at.
He's not going to get a starting spot - That will be Smith, Houston, Scott.
McKinnon is a much better prospect off the bench too, so no real loss tbh.
The biggest disappointment is that he's a local lad!
He's definetaly up to first grade standard and he has been playing well of late so he will find another club but he's replaceable here!
I'd rather have Rochow on the bench ahead of him tbh.
Does anyone see any changes to the team for the rest of this year with this news?
When Snowden returns I'd put Taia back into the second row rotation and keep Rochow in the side, Edwards back to NSW Cup.
