His size and power was impressive in the WC, but he came off the bench for limited minutes.
I think we'll need a few workhorse types of props next year rather than another big unit. We have the Saifitis and Saulo for impact.

We ain't got him, we may not need him but we should consider him especially if not all those with us now continue in 2019.

I actually see Dan as a ploughhorse.

Dan has been playing that way because we needed him to - doesn't mean he can't play shorter minutes with bigger impact.

The success rate of ESL imports in the NRL is mixed.

The Burgess boys and James Graham are obvious standouts and generally have justified their high asking price (although Sam's second stint has been poor by his past standards).

For a club to be willing to throw top dollars at a marquee player moving across the globe, the player needs to show a genuine desire and commitment to all aspects of their journey.

Homesickness is inevitable, some people just handle it better than others. It's two-way street and the club as a whole needs to embrace the player and their family, giving them the support they need to settle into a new home. You can't expect someone to come and excel without that. Rusty, Souths and their supporters no doubt gave the Burgess's that, the way Sam played he looked like he'd been a part of the club since he was a kid.

Walmsley could be anything, but he needs to want to be here for reasons beyond stating it's either now or never. I hope he gets to showcase his talent on a weekly basis, and if at his peak that it's at the Knights. The first half of this season will be key, if he signs early and goes off the boil it'd make for a nervous club wondering what he'd bring into 2019. i'd hold off making a big offer until these points are clear.

I'm sure there were lessons learned through the underwhelming Wardle experience, I'd be surprised if Walmsley is an example of history repeating.

Don't really see him having any bursts of speed or ball taking roops, is it something that's been stamped out for the top grades he used to do?

Wardle highlights on youtube showed him to be a bit above average at best and that was in the ESL.........

I would say that Brown was trying to ensure completion rates were as high as possible to keep us in games with the team we had. Might be different now with a better team around him.

Dan makes huge charges when he's fresh, imagine if he's doing more of this with shorter spells rather than having to grind out long matches, 1:06:

Lateral speed in defence is his and Jacobs biggest problem in my opinion hopefully that’s something they are working on. Apparently he has leaned off so fingers crossed.

Don't think Wardle was signed to be the next star, Brown just thought his gritty character as a centre/backrower would allow him to translate into NRL. Shame he didn't get the chance to have a pre-season or two, but in the end probably wasn't fast or agile enough anyway.

As a general rule, you can't have too many giant props.
Having too many to use sure beats when we had a busted up Snowden and no one else.

We wouldn't have even had that if Tinkler didn't have a hard-on for him.

To be fair he'd just come off the back of an Australian jumper.

He was still our only front rower putting up his hands to do 12+ carry's a match at 125+ metres.

Can anyone remember the either talentless ones or bludgers he had outside him?
