I am backing him in.
I reckon you're spot on there. A lot of that will come down to what sort of combinations he forms with the spine.
If he keeps running those great lines and picking up plenty of tries it'll certainly help his cause.
There's still a question over some of his defensive reads but that'll improve no doubt.
I'm backing him to play in at least 16 matches this season. If city vs country hadn't been scrapped he could've have a good case for selection.
I've been on and off the Brown band wagon but no one can argue he's got us to a great spot right now. The performance based contract ? None of us are privy to the exact intricacies of same so what would be satisfactory ? I have no idea so obviously it's a guess when I say that I don't think below 10th will be acceptable. 1 thing I'm certain of is Wests don't like failure.
I have no doubt Wests expect success and am very happy about that. Having owners that expect success, and are willing to take the steps to achieve it is the best way to head in that direction.
All being fit then I can see we will need 10, at least, good first grade forwards to play the season, must assume that each of those 10 will probably miss 2-3 games a year due to injury, suspension and rep football. That would mean possibly 1-2 a week or if all is well none. Due to that it is easy to see players rated 9 & 10 getting 10 or more games a season with players rated 1-8 getting 20 or more. Few forwards play a full season without missing a game.
Geez you can tell lillyman has had a career in the pigs..... Starting to get that boxer speech from head blows.
he struggled to spit it out. didnt he
It’s probably pre existing. He is from Queensland.
Sione might want to take note.
Do you think Wests will sack Brown if we're in a logjam ****fight for the 8 right up until the last round, but we happen to lose the last game while 2 other clubs manage a win & we drop to 11th? It's great to strive for success, but it has to be reasonable too. If they were prepared to do that, then I'd be fearful for the club's on field stability for years to come.
If we're in the last few rounds coming 11th or 12th but we're a couple wins behind everyone & little chance of making the 8, then it becomes more reasonable.
If we get 12th or better imo Brown will be safe and get an extension but will be expected to get 8th or better in 2019
Article saying the part time squad have a trial against North Sydney at Redfern oval on Friday night.
Also says most won't get much game time this year and have been encouraged to sign for real NRL sides - Amey for Lakes is the only one named - Lakes coach says he doesn't expect to have him often.
Lillyman believes forward pack will hold its own
NRL.com speaks to Nathan Ross about leadership
Side named for the reserve grade trial v north sydney.
I wonder what the thinking is to not name guys who missed out on the Melbourne trial like Tom Starling, Brent Naden, Zac Hosking and Pasami Saulo for the reserve grade trial?
That they are not going to feature very much in our NRL campaign for 2018?
They will be in the team next week vs wenty/parra.
Most of the team named vs norths are guys that are fighting for a spot in reggies come rd1
I wonder if Bobby Treacy is any good?
I notice he is a fair bit bigger than his dad and is still young because he made the Newcastle rebels under 23 side last year.
A Butterfield, a Treacy and a Johns - we are getting the band back together - I wonder what Ryan Glanville is doing tomorrow night?
Separate names with a comma.
