He needs a pretty big hole to go through considering he can’t break a tackle. He would’ve been good for depth but he’s not a huge loss by any means, he’s not gonna get any better. Guys like Denniss and Naden have higher ceilings.

Its obvious why we will improve from 18' to 19', im not stupid

All im trying to do is offer an alternative view of things. Everyone on this forum seems to have completely bought into the idea that progress is linear and that it begins at a low point in rnd 1..

We will improve over time, obviously, but it doesn't follow that we must start slow

Mate when you start a new job you may be a hard worker but it still takes time before you do it as good as the guys that have been there doing it for a while ...Same here a new team doesn't play as a team as good as a team that's been together for a while and played together and know how each other plays ...

Correct. That's why we will see improvement. But it doesnt mean they'll start slow lol

Im genuinely expecting them to look really good, well drilled, from the start.

    1. Ponga
    7. Pearce
    9. Levi

That is a class spine. Im expecting them to have it together from the start

Not wrong mate, but they are taking the treat and stick approach it would seem.

Gives someone for the players to hate as well when tough decisions need to be made.

Rob, there is one word for it " position" Left side is normally the attacking side as most ball players favour the right to left long selective pass while the right side is more for the short off the hip close to the line passes. To even pretend to understand the game plan, player role or the instructions each player is given before each game would be presumptuous to say the least, as the left side defender it was not uncommon for the defensive second rower to drop back out of the play to defend any dropped balls or intercepts, should they happen.

The Coach sets the plays , the Players position themselves where they are told and run the lines they are expected to run no matter what, combinations are an extension of the fabricated "Game Plan".

King talking about doing his best to stay in firstgrade.
My opinion is that King should improve on last year, and at the end of last year he was probably playing better than Heighington, who I can't see improving.
I can't see Heighington keeping King out for too long.
There is also very little between Jake Saifiti and King's form at the end of last season. It will be hard to call between those two.

As i said it takes time to learn other players games and Gel as a team ...They should start well but not like a top 8 team and imo wont finish the year as a top 8 team but by mid 2019 watch out ...

IMO King was the 1 Prop who's defence was really hurting the opposition at the back end of last season ...

The bully of the squad as Ayoub put it good to hear a front rower with anger in our squad

He went from plodder to quite good within the space of a few weeks in mid 2017. Slowed down abit towards the end of the year though. Nice to hear that he’s ripping in.

King has a litany of problems in his game. Forget ball handling or inability to wrestle other big men. His ability to make judgements in defense on or near the line is absolute garbage

And Its not as if he is a notable ball carrier. Imo King is the definition of a fringe first grader. And someone like Saulo, who is 4 years his junior, will likely look better in FG than King does in what will be his 3rd year

I hope he proves me wrong. But id be quite surprised if he does
