Slater to be suspended for it, Roosters the better side all year, will get the job done in the one that matters.

Cronk possibly not making the GF would sure even up the loss of Slater, and Mitchell and Napa back is to be a plus.

Roosters. By 13. Sneaky field goal before half time. Storm can go F themselves.

    From the Roosters website

Cooper Cronk was taken for scans at full time after sustaining a shoulder injury during the first half of the match.

Scans have revealed that Cronk sustained a severe left rotator cuff injury.

Rehabilitation on the injury has commenced and he will be given until kick off to prove his fitness.

The remaining squad members made it through the match without concern and will be available for selection in the NRL Grand Final.

It is the chook mascot that is to blame!

The look on Coop's face as he was thumped in the shoulder says it all. Wish him well having undergone two shoulder rotator reconstructions. Thank goodness we aren't like optopi with eight arms!

An extremely interesting match up with so much still in doubt. If Billy is out and Coops in, the betting will swing the way of the chooks. Billy in and Coops out, the Storm will be perceived favourites. Both out becomes more of a toss of the coin.

The chooks have Mitchell and Napa back which is a plus and they could not possibly play as bad as they did against the Rabbitohs.

Would be quite a story if Aubusson can win a premiership at halfback in the closing stages of his career.

Bet slater gets off. I can see he chicken wings him in the tackle meaning he put force into the tackle with his shoulder constituting a shoulder charge. The hearing isn't getting any questions regarding this.

My biggest concern is the precedent it sets if he gets off

I'm hoping for it so the game might be able to look at some common sense going forward. In what world do we look at Slater's brilliant try saving tackle & deem that he actually needs to sit out of a game because it is such a dangerous action that requires punishment. His tackle was not the intended use for that rule, he's getting punished for it though. Everyone knows what a dangerous shoulder charge looks like, you connect with a guy's head you deserve all that's coming to you, but in the mean time we have to put up with great tackles being removed from the game too.

I'm all for shoulder charges. Its puts the little guys in a better defensive stance but unfortunately with all the hia and head contact that occured from them it was an easy decision in the end. Rules are rules unfortunately and they "have" to be abided by.

Whilst the shoulder charge rule was brought in more to stop the front on shoulder charge against a player taking a hitup, possibly not seeing it coming, the rule is wiping out all shoulder charges.

Billy no doubt shoulder charged him, the ref penalised him as a shoulder charge, and if what has been said online is about the NRL privately stating he should have been sin binned, suspension should be the only outcome.
