Haha the choke tag surely died in 2010?? Plus they dont need to win the comp. Just play well through the season

Yes and no, cherry is the dominant half so he runs the show.
A 6 that has a cool head and can chime in on the plays is all they really need, hence chasing hodko.
Pretty gun backline they have atm again, and a big mobile heavy hitting pack, they will be a hard team to knock off. A very good test for us in rd1

Many people have attributed Cherry-Evans' better form to Green. Whether that's true or not we'll see this year.

Manly are a quality side when DCE is playing his best footy. And there are a few things which underpin his form. One obvious one being his halves partner. So we'll see how he goes

I reckon they'll have a decent year but Ive got them missing the 8 so Im feeling confident we can beat them in rnd 1

Bookies have got us on equal money for the match, which is probably fair given our home ground advantage, qnd the unknowns around how we will play

In recent times Manly have abused us physically and we leave with an L and bulk injuries.
Just checked and we have lost the last 7, last win was in 2012.

Will be very sweet if we give it to them.

We've got the better pack that's for sure. Our quality spills onto the bench and into reserves. Theirs stops at 13

Outside of Taupau and Jake T I don't rate them, but those are two very good players.

    8 Taupau - beast
    9 koroisau - clever player
10 Lussick - hot head but can be a beast when on song
11 Thompson - very vety good player
12 Sironen - starting to live up to his name.
    13 J Turbo - gun player.

    14 Funua-Blake - i Rate this guy highly
15 Perrett - could be good, but average since nrl start.
16 Winterstein - another guy i rate highly
17 Lane/Brown - lane is massive but soft, Brown has all the skill but tiny.

I rate Thompson as a good backrower.

Thompson is a very good player, Dragons let him go as they needed his 500k and have a good backrow even with him gone.

I rate Thompson. And Funua-blake is a gun too

But aside for those two, and the obvious Taupau and Jake T, the rest are pretty average. Winterstein had a few good games last year but is inconsistent. Sironen is Perret are garbage imo

It's not like he dropped the premiership and has been broken since.

If there was ever an occasion that you wanted to crawl into a hole and die, that had to be it.

I hate the broncos as much as anyone, but that was almost too cruel to take delight in watching.

    Almost... :giggle:

It was delightful. We were embarrassed regardless, but man that would have sucked if Bennett won the premiership his first year back at the Broncos, while we collected the spoon, especially after those anti-Bennett, pro-Stone signs that were getting shown off in Round 1.

I wouldn't underestimate Manly, sure no outstanding 5/8 but otherwise very good side on paper at least two forwards better than ours with not much between the rest, we edge them in the halfs but they are better right across the backs but only just. We could be missing a 2-3 top players, Dan, Mitch and Moga for round 1. Home ground helps, fingers crossed will be close.

Their backs cannot defend. Taufua and Uate are hopeless. Meanwhile, neither centre is a reputable defender.

Position to positon. I would swap Walker for Sione. And that's it. And no, I wouldn't swap Ponga for Turbo Tommy

    Our backline is better imo
