wasnt barnett first game back from shoulder thing probably just sore youd expect that
Mitch Barnett (head cut)
Dylan Phythian (ACL, round 6)
Jamie Buhrer (concussion, round 3)
Lock Mitch Barnett left the field with a head knock against the Raiders. Co-captain Jamie Buhrer is due back in round 3.
Any comments on whether there's any fallout from Moga's blow-up at the touchie after the Raiders 40-20?
Didn't have the advantage of commentary, but he looked awfully pissed.
Charge sheet (If there are any charges) would typically come out today
I doubt he will be charged unless he abused or swore at the officials
Yelling or protesting a decision won't usually get you charged
I thought he was blasting Ross Dawg for not being back to gather the kick.
Maybe, but from where I was sitting it looked like he was directing it at the touchie.
It was definitely a 40-20 and the call was right, I thought Moga was protesting where the ball went out.
Need to watch the reply, I could be wrong.
NRL Casualty Ward: Connor Watson facing 12 weeks out for Knights
March 26, 2018 8:22am
NEWCASTLE five-eighth Connor Watson is set to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks, with coach Nathan Brown confirming he’s likely to need surgery on an injured shoulder.
Watson was injured in the first half of the Knights’ 38-8 loss to the Sydney Roosters on Sunday night, after his shoulder popped out twice following a hit.
“At this stage they’re thinking a shoulder (operation) has to happen, which is about a 12-week injury,” Brown said.
The former Rooster ended the first half in a brace after he ricocheted off Boyd Cordner and Latrell Mitchell and left the field shortly after.
Newcastle have cover with Brock Lamb having spent time coming off the bench, while Danny Levi could also be brought back onto the interchange in his place as a hooking utility.
No charges out of last nights game
So Phythian and Hughes back in 2 or 3 weeks.
Meaney and Watson both about 12 weeks.
Damn I really feel for Phyth, the amount of time he has taken off is almost absurd in today's game.
If Lamb and Watson don't make a fist of 5/8, Pyth could find himself there. Hoping he makes a successful comeback.
Pyth looks insanely fit.
At one of the opposed sessions he trained up and down the sidelines and then stripped his shirt off and stood around for a while. He looks as fit as an Olympic swimmer.
Injured Knights five-eighth Connor Watson to learn surgery fate today
Watson expected to miss up to 6-8 weeks with a capsular injury. No surgery required. Good news!
Phyth is g-o-n-e!
Pythian gone, Watson injured, good decision to hold onto Lamb and Cogger
Moga has done his 'good' knee so we should see him back next year.
Jamie Buhrer was hit with a grade 1 Careless High Tackle, It will be a $1,100 fine if he takes the early plea
