That Turbo Tom injury is strange.

Shots in the shed showed him with an ice pack to his right hammy.

Surely the club knew about his neck, why was he allowed to play, may have done permanent damage.

Kodi Nikorima out with a cork.
Bird playing in the halves. Will be interesting to see how he goes after we missed out on him. Personally im glad we did but he could change my mind if he performs well.

CRONULLA’S forward pack has been decimated in a horror night in Wollongong on Friday.

The Sharks finished their loss to the Dragons with no fit men on the bench.

Paul Gallen, Andrew Fifita, Luke Lewis, and Wade Graham all failed to finish the game after suffering respective leg injuries.

Gallen is believed to have strained a medial ligament in his knee, but Fifita’s could be more serious with fears of damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Graham had his thigh strapped, while Lewis seemed to clash knees with former teammate Jeremy Latimore late in the game.

Luckless Rooster Sio Siua Taukeiaho faces a nervous wait to learn the severity of a knee injury suffered during the warm-up of Thursday’s game at Allianz Stadium.

Taukeiaho received scans on Friday morning but they were inconclusive, and he will need to undergo further testing on Monday to learn his fate.

Taukeiaho was a late scratching from the clash against South Sydney, which the Chooks lost at Allianz Stadium.

Taukeiaho ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in 2016 and went under the knife.

Casualty Ward Round 7: Lodge set to overcome rib injury

Dan Walsh & Alicia Newton & Joel Gould
    Tue 17 Apr 2018, 05:00 PM

All the latest injury news leading into round seven of the 2018 Telstra Premiership.

    Brisbane Broncos

Matt Lodge has been backed by teammates to recover from a rib cartilage injury to face the Melbourne Storm after sitting out the Brisbane Broncos’ field training session on Tuesday. Lodge suffered the injury in last Saturday's win over the Warriors and after being named in the starting line-up will be given until later in the week to prove his fitness for Friday night’s clash at Suncorp Stadium.

Test forward Josh McGuire said he had no doubt Lodge, who was cleared of any fractures, would be on deck to tackle one of the Broncos' fiercest rivals. "It's just a painful injury," McGuire said of Lodge’s rib concern. "He'll be fine, he's a tough man, he's played through injury before."

Fellow forward Alex Glenn said the Broncos would manage Lodge’s injury through the week to make sure he was "ready to go". The Broncos have named Jack Bird and Anthony Milford to continue the successful halves combination which accounted for the Warriors with Kodi Nikorima reverting to the bench utility role. Glenn said Bird had performed strongly and that it was a plus “having a nippy player like Kodi when forwards get tired” to come on and make an impact off the bench.

Bird slotted into the five-eighth role at Brisbane training on Tuesday with the former Cronulla Shark appearing to relish having his hands on the ball more often than he did in the centres. The Broncos have won just two of their previous 15 encounters with the Storm and have not beaten them at Suncorp Stadium since 2009.

"We know it is one of the games they mark off on their calendar and especially up at Suncorp,” Glenn said. "We have to make sure we back up what we did last week with high completions, defending really well and limiting [Cameron] Smith getting out of dummy half really quick."

    Jordan Kahu (jaw, round 9-12)
    Andre Savelio (knee, season)

Here's all the likely team changes and the NRL Casualty Ward leading into round eight of the 2018 Telstra Premiership.

    Casualty Ward: Round 8

    Brisbane Broncos

Brisbane Broncos hooker Andrew McCullough is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a medial ligament injury to his elbow in Friday night's 34-20 loss to the Melbourne Storm. McCullough left the field in the 51st minute of the loss and Broncos high-performance manager Jeremy Hickmans has since confirmed the extent of the injury.

"In good news, all tendons are intact and there are no fractures to his arm," Hickmans said. "While there is some muscle damage, it is secondary to the ligament damage. With an injury of this type he is expected to return to the field in four to six weeks."

    Andrew McCullough (elbow, round 13)
    Jordan Kahu (jaw, round 9-12)
    Andre Savelio (knee, season)
    Matt Gillett (neck, round 16-18)

    Charlie Gubb (groin, round 9)
    Josh Hodgson (knee, round 18)
    Sam Williams (knee, round 11)

    Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

The Bulldogs said they got through last Thursday's bruising loss to the Roosters without any injury concerns.

    Aiden Tolman (ankle, round 13-15)

    Cronulla Sharks

Wade Graham is a strong chance to play this weekend after he was a late scratching against the Panthers on Sunday.

    Paul Gallen (knee, round 11-12)
    Luke Lewis (calf, TBC)
    Wade Graham (hamstring, round 8)

    Jorge Taufua (collarbone, round 12)
    Brad Parker (knee, round 12)

    Melbourne Storm

Melbourne prop Jesse Bromwich suffered a knee injury in the win over Brisbane and he could miss as much as six weeks with his knee injury. Storm football manager Frank Ponissi told Triple M on Sunday afternoon that the club was sweating on the results of scans on the Kiwi international's grade-two medial ligament strain. Kane Linnett (pectoral, round 13)
    Jordan McLean (foot, round 16)
    Josh Chudleigh (knee, season)

    Nathan Brown (ankle, round 8)
    Bevan French (shoulder, round 8)
    Tepai Moeroa (concussion, round 8)

    Penrith Panthers

Penrith winger Josh Mansour could miss the remainder of the Telstra Premiership season after suffering multiple facial fractures last weekend. The Panthers are hopeful Mansour may be able to return after the Holden State of Origin series. However, the Kangaroos winger is bracing for the worst case scenario, which would put him out for the rest of 2018.

    Waqa Blake (ankle, round 14)

    Jake Friend (concussion, monitored)

    Leivaha Pulu (foot, TBC)
    Solomone Kata (ankle, round 9-10)

    Brisbane Broncos

Brisbane behemoth Payne Haas is expected to miss four weeks with an ankle injury after coming off in the 56th minute against the Bulldogs following a big hit from David Klemmer. He will also be monitored for any concussion effects after coming off worse for wear in his contact with Klemmer.

The Broncos received better news on Alex Glenn (hamstring) and Jack Bird (quad) after both left the field against Canterbury. Both are expected to be fit to play against Manly this weekend.

    Canberra Raiders

Both Sam Williams and Josh Hodgson are tracking well in their recoveries from respective MCL and ACL injuries. Williams has resumed running and will be assessed for return ahead of round 10, potentially a week early, while Hodgson is training with the first grade squad but is yet to begin contact work. Charlie Gubb has returned from a groin strain at the weekend via feeder club Mounties.

    Jayson Bukuya (illness, round 10)

    Gold Coast Titans

Gold Coast have received some good news on forward Jai Arrow, who was taken to hospital by ambulance during Saturday's 32-18 loss to Canberra, with chest pain and vomiting. A club statement on Sunday said Arrow had suffered a rib contusion, which means his rib cage was shifted from its normal position. That causes distress to the organs around it. Arrow came from the GIO Stadium field in the 18th minute of play after a collision with Raiders forward Junior Paulo and was unable to return.

However, the 22-year-old has undergone all the necessary tests and has been cleared of any internal damage, which could have sidelined him for a lengthy period. The Burleigh junior will be monitored through the week, with no decision yet on whether he's a candidate to face Melbourne Storm at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday. Jarrod Wallace was unable to face the Raiders due to a virus and is continuing to be monitored by medical staff.

    Warriors

Issac Luke made an earlier than expected return from a knee injury against Wests Tigers but dislocated his shoulder in the clash at Mt Smart Stadium while Adam Blair and Shaun Johnson suffered ankle injuries. Centre Gerard Beale is on track to return to action next week after recovering from his long lay-off since breaking his leg in the Kiwis' first match at the World Cup last year. Second-rower Leivaha Pulu's foot injury will rule him until round 20. Coach Stephen Kearney is hopeful Luke, Blair and Johnson will not miss any game time and be back for Saturday's stoush with the Roosters in Auckland.
