Straight swap for Wardle, too easy.

Brown in the presser saying Lamb looks like having a grade 2 medial, so his season is over, but should be fine for the preseason.
    Cogger the likely replacement.

It comes at a very good time for Cogger.
Last time he was in firstgrade he had a pelvis/groin problem that kept him from playing his best.
He had that surgically repaired, and has now had a chance to build up his upper body, ease himself back into football through under 20s and reserve grade, and for at least a month he has been training with the firstgrade squad.
As far as I know he is fully fit, considerably bigger than last time, and has had a chance to get himself match fit and up to speed with the team.
He should be as ready as he will ever be to show what he can do for 2 games going into the off season.

Pauli looks like he has had a setback and won't be able to play, but good news for the reserve grade side in that Stockwell might be ready.

FFS Rossy, just take the year off mate, can see him doing himself a real serious mischief.

The bone he broke is only a bit that sticks out from the spine to protect it - not part of the actual spinal column. All he risks is being in a lot of pain if it gets hit again.
It's not that much different to having a cracked rib, and plenty of players play with them.

Why? Umm he doesn't want our team to get 3 wooden spoons in a row, pretty good incentive to play if you ask me.

We have the spoon barring some absolute miracle, realise his desire would be to play but a fit replacement is better than an injured player, why risk further damage, I will be very surprised if he plays, player welfare should be considered even if he declares he is fit. Most players under HIA bans would want to go out and play.

    Daniel Saifiti injury update

    Tue 29th August, 05:39PM

nib Newcastle Knights forward Daniel Saifiti met with a specialist on Tuesday after suffering a shoulder injury in last weekend’s match.

Saifiti requires a shoulder reconstruction and will undergo surgery within the next fortnight.

The surgery will unfortunately rule Daniel Saifiti out of the Fiji World Cup squad, however he will be able to commence pre-season on light duties when the team returns in November.

Saifiti had played in every NRL match this season, as well as for Fiji in the Pacific Test.

Having a good long break is probably a good thing for Dan about now anyway.
He's had two long years for a guy as young as he is. 3 months off is a good reward.
