Article in the Sydney Herald today where Dennis Lillee said the current bowling attack is the most balanced ever.
I have to agree. We often have 2 or 3 really top class bowlers, but we currently have 4 who all seem in top form.
Hazlewood was quoted as saying they don't need Marsh as a bowler, and I agree with that too. All Marsh would do is take the pressure off the poms.

    Agree Billy.

Our attack is strong with Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins and Garry the lion in great form. I don't think even Hohns would interfere with that, would he? For mine pre-match PR and sell a few more tickets with the chance of another local in the side. One of the worst policies ever was his 'rotational' BS from a few seasons ago.

Handscomb is all at sea at present, he needs to be dropped so he can go away and sort out his technique.

Concerned with Mitchell Marsh coming back in. The Poms get smashed and keep the same team, we win comfortably and changes made. Our attack has been much too short in the first session.

And Mitch drops a sitter at first slip! Now how many wickets won't he take and how many runs will he score?

This is a road just like the last 2 tests played here in 2015 and 2016

In 2016 AUS vs SAF saw a combined 1,387 runs scored and AUS vs NZ in 2015 saw a combined 1,672 runs scored

Could've been a much bigger total at 4/367 but England lost 6/35 in that first session on day 2

If the Aussie batsmen can get in there are big scores to be made

350 is the worst case scenario, Anything less than that and Australia are gone I reckon

pitch is doing a few odd things, but our batsmen should go fine.
the poms will fall into the usual trap for guys not used to Perth and bowl too short for long enough for our batsmen to settle in.

Well our guys fell into the trap also Billy.

Starc's boundaries over Paine's head were silly!

    All praise Captain Smithy!!!!!!!!

One of either Warner or Bancroft really have to develop into a batsman that can bat for sessions, not an hour.. Opener is one position T20 is cruelling in the quest for fast runs. Overton's injury looked pretty severe and he was the Poms best bowler by far.

Smith has gone past Neil Harvey and David Boon on the most centuries for Australia list

    Centuries3.png

He is also moving up the list for most test centuries overall

He is now equal with Ian Bell, Geoffry Boycott, Colin Cowdrey, Mohammad Azharuddin and Wally Hammond who all played more tests than Smith

He is untouchable atm and hasn't looked like getting out

Mitch Marsh has looked really good after a few heart in mouth moments, Credit to him
