Can we fill in the blanks with players that are confirmed at this stage?

    So far we know:

    - Dobson signed
    - Newton rumoured to have signed
    - Hilder re-signed for a season
    - Tahu, Mata'utia brothers & Siuatonga Likiliki offered contracts but yet to sign.
    - Frei, Davis off contract but reportedly not wanted by Knights
    - Tetevano, Quinn, Redman, Mantellato off contract

100% confirmed list for next year so far?

    3.
    4.
    5.
    6.
    7. Michael Dobson
    8. Korbin Sims (He's obviously in between NRL/Cup at this stage)
    9. Travis Waddell
    10. Toka Likiliki
    11.
    12.
    13. Matt Hilder

    14.
    15. Tyler Sullivan
    16.
    17.

Our 20s are relatively young players so I don't think many are going to make the next step up either... this is why I'm confused by our lack of interest in re-signing players.

Fa'alogo, Cuthbertson, Houston & Clydsdale would all be in that between NRL/Cup group in my opinion.

    Mantellato also off-contract.

    - - - Updated - - -

Those guys signed up mixed with NYC guys coming up looks like a pretty damn average NSW Cup team apart from a few sprinkles of talent.

So if the Knights full strength team next year is:

    1. Boyd
    2. McManus
    3. Gagai
    4. Leilua
    5. Uate
    6. Mullen
    7. Roberts
    8. Snowden
    9. Gidley
    10. Mason
    11. Rochow
    12. Scott
    13. Smith

    14. Gower/Clydsdale
    15. Cuthbertson
    16. Fa'alogo
    17. McKinnon

It leaves us with Houston and Sims as Cup players or Fa'alogo if you play Sims in NRL etc etc

    Seriously struggling IMO.

Shipard, Roose, Allison, Steele, Elias, Rouse, Hill, Tuha will all be 21 next year I'm pretty sure so some of them will have to get a spot. Tapine looks like he could make the step up next year too. What's happening with Vaivai, Mason, Mantellato and Adams? We'll also probably have guys like Fa'alogo/Cuthbo/Houston etc playing games depending on form. Obviously we need to re-sign a big chunk of those off contract players though. It should be the same side minus W Smith, Kev and maybe D Smith who'll be replaced. Still alot of time left to sign and re-sign players, we'll get a clearer idea of the side at the end of the year.

Probably get a team like this if the Mata'utias, Mantellato, Tonga Likiliki, Tets sign on. If not, then average NYC players.

    1. Peter Mata'utia
    2. Josh Mantellato
    3. Chanel Mata'utia
    4. Siuatonga Likiliki
    5. Pat Mata'utia
    6. Tyler Randell
    7. Michael Dobson
    8. Toka Likiliki
    9. Travis Waddell
    10. Korbin Sims
    11. Chris Houston
    12. Zane Tetevano
    13. Matt Hilder

    14. Adam Clydsdale
    15. Clint Newton
    16. Anthony Quinn
    17. Paterika Vaivai
    18. Rodney Mason

I'd re-sign AJ Davis and play him 5/8th.

I think a lot will depend on where the Knights finish up this year, if they win the comp it will be interesting.

That looks about right without including any of the NYC players apart from Pat, I'm expecting something like this. Gower will probably be there too if Clydsdale shares the hooking role with Gids. I really think Gower should/will re-sign. Still better than probably every other NRL club's reserve sides. We'll have strong depth once again next year I have no doubt about that.

Or if worse comes to worse :-/

    1. Nathan Ross
    2. Lachlan Shipard
    3. Joshua Allison
    4. James Elias
    5. Honeti Tuha

With Newton getting probably a bigger role in the team... :-/

    Lol

I wouldn't mind giving Ross another contract actually, I rate him.

We are suggesting everyone will just re-sign and it will be ok though, as of today were down a whole backline!

Well I see in the paper the other day that Lucas Miller is back from a long injury rehab. Maybe at 24 he is past it, but he has played plenty of NSW cup for us and Melbourne, and his partner for Wests in the frontrow is fellow Carlsen medal winner Jake Finn - who also had a good year in NSW cup last year for premiers Canterbury.
Simon Williams is having a great year too. He played for Newcastle reps and I think for country.
Pat Mataútia and Mamo are the only backs I like in NYC. Mamo has another year of NYC.
A good backline would be Pete. Mantellato, Pat, Simon Williams, Chanel, Tyler Randell, Dobson/Davis/Gower/Roberts

If he was up for coming back Simon Williams would be awesome to see come back. He's still going good for Wests.

Have heard wyong will be a feeder for knights next year- could this be why they are holding off signing players?

Our only feeder team or along with our Knights team?

There was a story months ago that we are talking with Wyong about them being the feeder team for next year.
    I hope not.
Nothing against Wyong, but we have had some great development this year, so I think the model we have now is working well and is well worth the money spent.

That sounds sweet, may weaken the NSW Cup Knights but will give us double the amount of space to put players.

Hard to say who would coach Wyong. Stringer has said he won't be there next year, and I've heard Rip Taylor is a chance at being an assistant coach for a firstgrade team next year (and was at the game today looking for talent).

First-grade for the Knights? Or is that Wyong.
