    Dureau as halves coach?

Helping out a footy side in return for a free trip to Tenerife? Gee that's hard work, but somebody's got to do it I guess....

    2016 Newcastle Knights Jersey

Not sure we'd have been allowed to use red and white with St George and Illawarra in the comp at the time, loved watching us in that 1908 kit back in 2008 though. Completely agree on the Norths colours, red and black always looks great and I wouldn't be surprised if a second Brisbane team uses...

    REAL NRL: Newcastle Local Competition

Be very interesting to see how Wests would sort their backline if Tighe came in. They've already got the best centre pairing in the comp in Gordon/Williams, plus guys like Ale and Richardson who can play there if needed. Good od problem to have I guess. Them getting Finn back will be massive...

2015 VB NSW Cup / 2015 State Championship

Strange sort of game this one. Ipswich' sideways attack did hurt us a few times early but once we got into the swing of the game it wasn't that damaging. Few of our boys like Carlos looked a bit flat which is understandable I guess given all the pressure footy they've played. A good effort...

    2015 NYC Holden Cup

Not a good start - down 18-0 after 25. First time I've seen the scrum shot clock in use and really like it, keeps the game flowing.

Official Teams: Newcastle Knights vs St George Illawarra Dragons

Ross will be invaluable getting us some metres out of dummy half early in sets, one of the best facets of his game.

ROUND 18: Knights v Raiders @ GIO Stadium

Making the most of visiting a mate down in Canberra this weekend by going to Bruce Stadium for the first time for this. Not really sure what to expect, hopefully history can repeat from last season with Mullo returning in Canberra to inspire a victory.

    Alex McKinnon #RISEFORALEX

The worst thing is that depending on which discussions you read, there are lots of people defending Smith. If he truly had to argue the penalty, he could've at least waited for McKinnon to be off the field. And if he couldn't tell it was a serious injury, like some people are claiming, then he's...

ROUND 9: Knights v Manly @ Brookvale Oval

Gagai showed potential today. He was out of position a number of times, in kick defence, cover defence and red zone attack but that can be worked on if they're serious about him playing fullback long term. If they are, stick with him there and work on it, but they need to decide that now. Same...

ROUND 9: Knights v Manly @ Brookvale Oval

We started our run of good form late last year when Gidley shifted to 7, might've been a coincidence but fingers crossed it happens again if he plays there this week. I think we must must must sit their halves on their backsides this week, especially DCE. Teams aren't physical enough with DCE...

Kurt Gidley to leave the Knights at the end of 2015

Fair enough, I do disagree with that though. I back Stone to be able to make the hard call if necessary and I think from Kurt's comments re: the brothers, Gagai and Mamo earlier this year that he would step aside for the club in that situation.

Kurt Gidley to leave the Knights at the end of 2015

I'm sorry but the talk of Kurt being picked solely because of who he is is such garbage it's barely worth responding to. I know it's the popular thing to do to talk about how he's rubbish but before the last three weeks, he was playing well....just like the rest of the team, but a number of...

ROUND 8: Knights v Cowboys @ Hunter Stadium

The sign out the front of the stadium has been blown down, not sure if that's an omen for the weekend.

ROUND 7: Knights v Eels @ Hunter Stadium

Kurt breaking Joey's record for most games at captain, wow. Hadn't heard anything about that until this thread but that's a great achievement and hopefully it gets a bit more publicity.

ROUND 6: Knights v Sharks @ Remondis Stadium

Went last year and the food was your standard leagues club fare and reasonably priced. Beer prices were ok but some of the bars there gave it to you in a plastic cup which is just nonsense. Enjoy the game, it's a nice little ground although standing on the hill gets a bit chilly when the wind...

So who is our best young prospect?

I don't want to put the mocker on anyone but I've never not been impressed by Luke Yates. Hope he is a long term Knight.

ROUND 4: Knights v Panthers @ Hunter Stadium

Stockwell continues to impress, he has some real mongrel. If Scott was to leave I could see Stockwell providing the grunt and mongrel that Scott currently gives us.

ROUND 4: Knights v Panthers @ Hunter Stadium

Randell did his job well. He was solid moreso than spectacular, which is what you'd expect from him. He's great in defence and made some big tackles in the middle third today. Wasn't as much of a standout as round 1 but did his claims for a permanent spot no harm. Have to remember too that he...

ROUND 4: Knights v Panthers @ Hunter Stadium

They said on Triple M last week that 13 wins definitely will, and 12 probably will. I think we should aim for 24 :D Watching the press conferences and one journo keeps asking both teams about Wallace being tackled late, give me a break, there was nothing in any of those moments.
