Its funny how alot of you write Ross off after 1 average injury plagued season. He was awesome for us 2016 & 2017.

Everyone seems to have Lee as an automatic starter over Ross. Lee wasnt in the Sharks original top 17 this year but Sione Katoa got a long term injury so Lee got a lot of game time. Lee had an average season in 2017 and only played 5 games.

Imo Lee has never had an outstanding season like Ross did in 2016 & 2017 but he will be picked because he is one of Browns boys and Ross is out of favour.

In saying all that i dont mind which player gets the nod as long as they both have to compete and the better performer gets the position.
Lee has been here 5 minutes hasn't yet played for us and he is already one of Browns boys ..your kidding right … I love the way people like to belittle Brown with this Brown's boys crap .

After last year no one is going to pay his current value and give him more than 2 years anyway and what will he be 32 when that deal ends?

I am sure his family is settled and he'd have stuff going on outside of footy so he'd be silly to move even if he is a NSW cup'er.

Maybe that's it? Maybe his manager has shopped him around and he has no takers in Aus?

Anyways it's up to him I'm happy either way

Ross looked good in a bad team, shocking lol

That standard of opposition he looked good against didn't change. Sure he might have had a bigger, more involved role in a sh*tty team, but I don't understand the theory of bad players around him making him look like a star, scoring great tries & running up a big work rate?

Gold coins look really good when surrounded by 5c pieces
But gold coins don’t look that great amongst $100 notes

That's a strange analogy, as it refers to value rather than quality and ability. It also doesn't make sense IMO. Put it this way: Ross would be able to show what he can do more so outside of a quality centre than a poor one. Look at Inglis playing in the centres for Origin, for example. You could place George Rose outside him and I'm sure Rose would bag some meat pies (not the ones he might normally bag though).

So his tries, line breaks & effort were because of worse players playing with him? Again, the opposition he played against didn't change, he still did what he did against NRL standard players. The only difference was back then he was a main player of the squad, so was expected to have that kind of involvement.

Ross had a knack of getting between players when bringing the ball off our line. It allowed a quick play the ball and a decent start to our sets. It was his best strength. SKD did a great job of that last year using size. Brown is going with the same with Lee. I actually think Ross has a quicker play the ball than the other two. I think he lags behind them in the defensive aspects of the game though.

I’m saying Ross looked good to us because there wasn’t much quality in the team before, so we weren’t expecting much. But now the standard of our expectations has improved, Ross isn’t at or above the standard.

I think your pulling your own string. Ross is a very capable first grader on the wing. You can't deny that............
