Kieran Foran

Not sure whether that was meant as an insult to Matt Hilder  because I'd certainly select him over Hayne or Foran on form (his form in retirement vs theirs currently) haha

Not an insult, just a sign of how much I don't want them anywhere near the Knights.

Questionable character and hasn't been fit in close to ten years. Hasn't had a decent game in 5.

Yeah nah.
Doubt he has played 10 years in firsts and played quite a few at very top level while at manly certainly his form since has been below his normal standard and has shown very little last few, but Yeah nah he's not what we want or need but he once was good.

He was brilliant 5yrs ago! awesome defender, great vision, great kicking game,
When he's young family fell apart he became a broken man.... he has a few demons now that seem to not be going away.
Rugby league is all he knows and those that know him want him in a team environment due to that other side of his personal battles which could end in disaster.

Would i want him at the knights? Probably not atm!

Though i wouldnt like seeing a headline of Foran taking his life...
Hopefully he finds himself again soon and not for football reasons.

Spot on 88!

He was a huge talent and seems so unable to handle the things that haunt him. His time at Manly really crippled him.

He had a very hard time when his family fell apart and couldn't handle it he was depressed and trying to play football while he was thinking about other things and his form fell through the floor as it would and his mind not on playing probably caused his injuries .
I read somewhere at the start of the season that he is over that now (mainly due to his ex being good to him ) and this season it is about injuries .
The Dogs have said they want to medically retire him ( of course they do they have massive cap problems )but they want to retire him for a TOE injury seems dodgy to me …
If I was brown I would at least have a talk to him and determine where he is at mentally and injury wise because if its true and his head is all good again and his injured toe can be fixed and we can get him too how he was , the guy at his best is at least as good as Pearce and imo better and if we can get him for 1/2 his contract then im all for it .
IF the club talks to him to determine where he is at for them selves ...

Pearce wants him, Brown doesn't too pricey.. can't have two halves on 1 mil each.

Pearce must not have confidence in Watson.

Where’s this coming from?

Watson has hit some nice form. Always had the ability, dynamic football player, just not sold on five-eighth being his best position. He’s playing well but. Looking forward to seeing what he looks like next to Pearce. Cogger is proving that he’s not a first grade half.

Mate, Foran is done. Just watch him play, it's clear he's busted up & not what he was. And he is not even close to Pearce. Foran is a tough, effort bugger, but nothing on Pearce as a halfback.

Just because you think he is done doesn't make it so and he isn't the 1/2 back Pearce is because he ISNT a 1/2 back mate he is a 5/8 2 different positions . But have a look at they're Rep sheets and see who has done the most at the top .

Yeah I agree that 1 million is too pricey but IF he is all good except for this toe injury we might get him for half of what he is on at the Dogs with them paying the other 1/2 as they are doing with Woods.
BUT I stress again only after the club talks to him and finds out exactly where he is at both mentally and physically ….
If Matty Johns who (1) is a pretty good footy brain and (2) probably knows more about whats going on with him and most players than anyone on here , thinks he could be good for us then imo it is probably something we should at least have a look at ….Johns is a lot closer to the action than anyone on here ...

Pearce and Foran are best mates so of course he would want his mate to play with him for the first time in their NRL careers. Don’t think it means anything to do with confidence or lack of with Watson.

Absolutely no chance the Knights will want to bring Foran here. Gardner is not going to want that sort of off field drama here.

If the planets align and foran can get his chit together, and can actually play to good form, and can stay in good health etc, then he would be a good buy. But having a look at the risk involved with bringing him here it is just too great.

We are looking at Fergo and from reports they had to consider his past indiscretions, Foran has much more issues then Fergo.

Foran is an organising, game management type 5/8 and Brown has made it clear he wants a running 5/8.

Enough day dreaming about what could be if everything were to go perfect for Foran here.

$500k for Foran is still twice as much as his worth.
